Hey guys

Finally got the X40 and I could not get suction initially. Then I shaved my pubes and tired it again and I just couldn't get suction... Then I kept trying and I finally got the hang of it.. Theres a learning curve!!!

My unit came with an extra valve and also a black valve which I believe is from the X-40. Still havent tried it yet.

So this is my concern. After I pump, I hear a hissing noise and when I looked carefully, I can see air bubbles coming from the big black "O" ring which is below the spring. Im almost 100% sure my valve is good and my suction is good too.

Air kept accumulating, Is this normal ?? cuz this is my first pump and I dont know if this is normal or not.

on a disappointing note, I didn't see any temporary gain at all... I read that ppl were having temp gains but my dick looked the same, well it looked like I just had sex, so it was thick but its nothing different from the norm.

So is that hissing noise and tiny air bubbles forming normal ?? if I was lying in a bath with the x40 pointing up, I wouldn't notice but since the x40 was parallel to the floor, I could see air bubbles.

I just want to know if this is normal or did I get a defective unit.

There are a few things you can try, first trimming down the pubic hair will help big time. Also using vaseline about the seal of the gaiter will also reduce air loss. FInally, using a pump sleeve will ultimately correct any other air issue, tight seal and a good pump.

Hey DLD, I clean shaved and I am able to get a decent seal.. I put it in a bucket to make sure its not me making a mistake. when I attached it to the bucket and put it horizontal, I see a lot of air bubbles from the O ring Valve.

I recorded it and put it on youtube , Let me know if this is normal. thanks

Try using the replacement seal that comes included. The replacement worked for me.

I tried both replacement seals. the X-40 black one and the Hydromax one.

Air bubbles still kept coming. In the youtube link above, is that normal ? This is my first pump and I dont think it is normal as the suction doesn't last for long and I have to re pump.

If you are still having problems get a PM over to Bathmate and he will replace this.

Mine lets in stupid air after I fill it, switch over to pump and when I depress the initial pump, tons of air seeps in, on the return stroke...?? idk but got me worried...

I got the X40 today (have a herc and X-40 as well). From the first pump, it's obvious there is more suction than the old models but sadly I got considerable air leakage and bubbles coming from the black o-ring at the top of the x40 as well. I changed all the valves, did all the tests etc etc.....no luck

What I found was that if i put on the Bathmate while laying down in the bath and do the first few pumps with it pointing upwards to the sky, the x40 will not leak or bubble and will maintain a great suction.

Every single time I tried to pump whilst standing, I would get the hissing and air bubbles from the tip. I spoke to Bathmate direct and they said you need to be 'above horizontal' which seems odd to me because all their marketing videos show the device being pumped while standing in the shower. Also, they said it's the first time they've heard of a problem with the X40 which also seems like BS given the amount of posts on here.

No, that is NOT normal, how old is the unit? If it's brand new it might not be seating yet or the valve might be a bit sticky. Do the same thing in the bucket but reach down and twist the valve on the unit and see if it quits. If it quits you know that it just hasn't "worn in" yet. There are a lot of these that just need time for the o-ring and valve to seat properly or there might be a piece of trash between the o-ring and valve.

Also, it is smart to put the pump gaiter down on a flat surface and pump hard, this will sometime reseat the valve if it has been dislodged.

So I had the air bubble issue at first but like dld said, I pumped it hard against a wall, so horizontal.. I locked the valve and pumped it like I found out my gf cheated on me, lol so basically pumped it like a mad man and while pumping it I kept pushing the release valve/ spring in to let air out and since the valve on top is locked, This helped to get the o ring into the proper place..

So this was done out of desperation to make the damn thing work and IT DID.... no more air leak, The O ring was not seated properly this could have happas it was shipped.

so I did the bucket test and even put it upside down so make sure there was no air bubbles and it works fine... Good thing too cuz customer service is poor for Bathmate.ca, I have no experience with MOS bathamte link.

Hope this helps !!!

I did mines against my stainless still fridge door, it didn't stay in place, did yours? I have the X40
