The one I am going to buy is a nice quality pump with a psi/gauge. I was wondering if it enlarges both length and girth or just girth and are the gains permanent with continuous use? Also, if you use the pump properly and continuously will it cause any bad side effects in the long run like impotence? To me pumping seems to do the same thing as other girth exercises in that it engorges the penis with blood that in turn enlarges the penis over time while also pulling at the ligaments and also lengthening the penis. MJ3 most opinions are you have to have a pump routine for a very long time to gain permanant girth from pumping alone and possibly a little length some might say. To maximize gain potential one can mix girth exercises with pumping. Pumping can provide a nice temporary girth enlargement as DLD mentioned, but he did not mention it can be a dangerous thing. You have to be cautious not to overdue it. Too much pressure can have serious consequences on the penis. Also, some say after using a pump for some time, even with caution, they can't get an erection without pumping. I see you are into a quality pump with a gauge. Hopefully its not a Kaplan pump you are talking about. I tried one, but it couldn't keep steady pressure. Try hitting the search at the top. There's several pump threads.

I've been pumping/manual girth work for 3 years or so. At first when pumping, say for the first 3-6 months, the girth gained from pumping will dissipate within a few hours. After longer consistent use, the gains will last a few days, if not more. Also, I believe the pumping/manual combination helps with permanency. Permanency because you are left in the engorged state for longer periods, and the structures are expanded for a longer period of time. I have not experienced any kind of ED, or lack of erections. In fact, I believe pumping increases my erection frequency. For example, after a pump day routine, usually around 1 hour, I wake up the next day with a pulsating extremely hard erection. The erection seems to expand the tunica past the point of normalcy, causing slight expansion discomfort. This is an indication of a positive post-workout gain potential. As others have mentioned, do not exceed 5-7hg of pressure. Consistent use at this level will yield gains.

Thanks guys!!! I plan on trying pumping along with manual girth work. The pump that I have been looking at is the LA Pump by LAP Distributing, LLC. It looks like a really quality pump and costs $135. The only thing that bothers me about pumping is the possibility of ED. I think if you use it properly and don't go over board than I think it should be pretty safe. To me, pumping and manual girth work seem to be a good combination for some great gains.
That would be great for girth if something like that was created

but seriously, I am really felling some of the advantages I have seen in the porno industry to pumping and the temporary effects it has on the penis.
