Stretching alone will bring length gains and minimal girth gains, mostly at the base. If you are only interested in becoming longer than a "stretching only" routine makes the most sense.
 
I've been doing the just the length portion of the DLD [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/forum/penis-enlargement-newbie-forum/1597-dlds-first-routine-i-gained-2-inches-with-this-routine-full-tutorial.html]newbie routine[/words] and loving it so far. I make sure to warm up/down properly, dont pull too hard but enough to get a good stretch and I do gentle pulls at any opportunity during the day.

After doing a lot of reading around jelqing I have decided that I am going to work my way up to 200 jelqs per day but at a 40%-50% erection level. This way I can maximise the length gains to be had from jelqing AND enjoy the amazing EQ and vascularity that I have previously experienced with jelqing, without worrying about girth gains hindering my length gains.

Maybe you could give it a try at a lower erection level too and see if it does anything for you.

Jelqs definitely help with length, I mean at one time Jelqing was the only exercise that was taught to the tribesman and their children. I do not think it is the most efficient way to gain length but it will bring some gains.
