How to Post Videos in your Posts and Threads
In the "Post New Thread", "Advanced Reply" or "Quick Reply" windows, you will notice an "Insert Video" button to the bottom left of each window (see button circled in red below). You will also notice to the right of the "Insert Video" button, a line of text saying "xmb max file size", this is the max file size you are allowed to upload per video, if your video exceeds this file size, you will be alerted.
Note: On mobile devices, you will only see the "Insert Video" button in the "Post New Thread" and "Advanced Reply" windows.

To record live video directly into your post
Using a smart phone or tablet with a built in camera
In the "Edit Post" window, click the "Insert Video" button, select the "Camcorder" option, you will want to set your video camera quality to 1280x720 (16:9) or Lower (4:3) for quickest converting and inserting time, if your video quality is set to real high, it may take a while to upload and playback, then click the record button on your smart phone/tablet. Note: Be sure you are holding your phone or tablet in the correct orientation so the video does not come out sideways or upside down. You also have the option to select an existing file as well that is already stored on your phone or tablet.
Once you stop recording your video, if you wish to upload it, hit the "Save" button. You will then be brought back to the [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]MoS[/words] forum edit post window and you will see a video upload progress bar (Circled in red below).
Keep in mind that video files are much larger than image files, epecially HD video, so the faster your internet upload connection is, the faster your video will upload. If you are uploading from your smart phone or tablet on a 3G network, it will take much longer than uploading on a 4G network. Most of the time it will be quickest to upload videos from your home network with cable internet.
Using a laptop or desktop computer with a built in camera or external camera
Record your video with any built in video recording software. On Apple you can use either Photo Booth or FaceTime, they both come pre-installed free with Apple OSX in the applications folder. Record your video (preferably in 720 HD) and then save it somewhere on your computer where you can find it (ie. Desktop).
Once you saved your video, go to the [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]MoS[/words] forum Edit Post window and click the "Insert Video" button. You will then be prompted to find and select your file to upload.
Once you select it you will see a video upload progress bar (Circled in red below).
On the left top side of the "Video Upload Progress Bar", you will see a number such as 123456K, this is the file size of the video you are uploading. This file size should be less than the "max file size" we allow in order to be uploaded.
Directly on the left bottom side of the "Video Upload Progress Bar", you will see a "Cancel" button. Use this button if you wish to cancel the uploading video.
While your video is uploading or after it has completed uploading, you will notice that the button that said "Insert Video" now says "Insert Another Video". This button will allow you to que other videos to upload while uploading the current video.
Once your video has completed uploading, you will have the option to preview it below the edit post window before completing your post and you can also use the "Preview Post" button to preview your post with the video in it as well.
At this point you will notice a strip of code has been automatically inserted into your post, it will look something like this: XXXXXXXXXX this is the direct link to your uploaded, converted, embedded video. If you upload multiple videos, you will see multiple codes similar to the one above. You can copy and paste this strip of code anywhere in the forums and your video will be embedded there as well.
You will also see a section above the video preview with the direct link to the embedded video.
Once you are happy with the video(s) you have uploaded, finish adding the text to your post if needed and depending in which edit window you are in, hit the "Submit New Thread", "Post Quick Reply" or "Submit Reply" button and your video is hosted on our server and embedded in your post.
That's it! Your video is now hosted here! GIVE IT A TRY!!!
08/19/2014 Note:
We are currently using an HTML5 video player with .mp4 video for video playback but Firefox and Opera on the desktop platform are not yet supporting HTML5 at this time. When we finish the converter this/next week, there will be a Flash Version as well as HTML5 so there shall be playback on all devices.
