Hello,

I'm a newer member here, but have really gotten in depth with PE over the last several months. I have found something interesting to help avoid fluid retention, but first a little background.

Before starting PE I've made a lot of overall improvements to myself. The biggest one is losing 125 pounds. I lost the majority in 6-7 months by following a very strict ketogenic diet. Basically I eat high healthy fats, moderate protein and no carbs. One of the side effects of keto is that the body rids itself in excess water. When eating carbs the body stores glycogen to burn for energy. Each molecule of glycogen has four molecules of water attached to it. This causes visible water retention in the body, especially in the extremities. Now that I am happy with my weight I cycle on and off of ketosis to maintain, which lead to my discovery.

When following a ketogenic diet I get very little fluid retention in my body, including when doing PE. For those who have issues with fluid retention when pumping, clamping, using the phallosan, etc... And could stand to lose a few pounds, or just lead an overall healthy lifestyle I would highly recommend trying out a ketogenic diet. It takes a few days to shed the excess water, but I feel that my PE is much more productive, with pure expansion and very little fluid retention when I am in ketosis. For some of us our life pretty much revolves around the obsession of PE so I figured why not have a diet change as well.

If anyone else would like to try this out, even if for just a few weeks, and provide some feedback that would be awesome. Anywho, I thought I'd share this discovery with the brothers on here since this forum has shared so much with me.

So basically you eat healthy :/ That's always good if you didn't realize haha.

ketosis is super low carb like almost no carb only from veggies

Thanks for the suggestion...I know I could lose a few pounds and maybe it'll help with my fat pad

It has to be high-fat, low-moderate protein and the rest from mostly fiber carbs.
Excess protein can cause issues

I wish I had saw this last year but I was able to lose the weight I wanted using a different diet. I really congratulate you on the improvements you have made to yourself and I appreciate sharing how you accomplished this. I did it in a much less healthy way :)

I have lost a lot of weight lately just by forcing myself to eat salad everyday and take a probiotic or kambacha drink every single day.

This has been the thought for a while, but there have been some studies to debunk this. The body, once keto adapted runs just as well, and sometimes even better, than when fueled by carbs. The one exception is in explosive action, but here are some links to support the claim.

I'm a huge advocate of keto since it has had such a positive impact on my life. In addition to the fat burning potential it also just makes you feel better. My energy is so up and down with carbs, even when eating "healthy" carbs. In ketosis I have great energy that never subsides. The first week or so is a little rough getting adapted, but after that it feels amazing.

That's why I say there are different perspectives on what is healthy. I know this vegan that is pure carb maniac maybe you heard of him his name is Harley his channel on youtube is durianrider. This vegan is a carber because they're essential for energy and working out but for the person who doesn't work out you dont need carbs because you'll just not end up using the energy and it'll become forms of fat if not used.

You can either burn sugar or fat and fat is a much healthier fuel for your body than sugar is.
Sugar was never meant to be our primal fuel - short-term yes, since you can burn it without using oxygen, but other than that fat is the better fuel.

Sugar from natural resources is healthy you just need to use it at the right time. These carbs are used for quick energy rather than fat which is for long term energy.

I love my fruit and veggies :)!

At the moment you burn sugar you stop burning fat for a period of time

Exactly :) That's why some people fast then exercise to burn the "fat" essentially

You still can be insulin resistance, so just lowering the sugar isn't the answer, you want those enzymes for fat-burning upregulated

Yeah but thats if you are insulin resistant. Not everyone is so it just works for those who are eligible. Overall eating well and exercising will ultimately be beneficial

What I found, in all seriousness, it had very little to do with what I ate, it had everything to do with being below my daily caloric intake. I mainly ate protein and some dairy and a vegetable drink. It was a very boring year but I did lose the weight.
