Okay, so i have kind of an odd body. I can see my top set of abs, i don't have them super clearly defined, but they're clearly visible. I can also see the outline of the V lines on my hips. However i seem to carry all my fat on my lower abs.

I'm 6 foot and about 160lbs, underweight i know, but i'm trying to bulk up. The thing is. i've been trying to gain muscle mass and lose weight at the same time but it doesn't seem to be working. I've gained a few pounds, i haven't gained fat, but i don't think i've lost any either.

I go to the gym 5 times a week now, working out one muscle group a day and doing 10 minutes of cardio which usually consists of fast walking for 2 minutes, sprinting for 30 seconds. I used to sprint for my school so i much prefer sprinting over jogging for the whole 10 minutes.

I don't really eat badly either. I usually wake up and have 4 Weetabix (not sure if they have that in America but it's not full of crap). I then usually have one scoop of Syntha 6 with one cup of oats pre-workout and then one scoop of Syntha 6 post work out. I'll then maybe have some poached eggs or a peanut butter bagel a few hours before dinner and my dinner is usually sweet potato and a grilled chicken breast, and then i might have some peanut butter or cottage cheese a bit later, and then Lean Dessert by BSN before i sleep.

I don't quite know why i'm still keeping this fat around my lower abs but it's really annoying me. Like when i set on my bed and put my elbows on my knees, my stomach overhangs my trousers, pants, underwear (whatever i'm wearing) yet the rest of me is pretty lean.

If anyone has an ideas of what i could do, i'd be very helpful. I friend of mine suggested cutting out carbs except for breakfast, i also thought about using fat burning supplements but i'm not sure how much they work.

Any advice would be really appreciated. I thought it best to post here rather than on bodybuilding websites as the transformations i've seen here are more than what any other website has seen. I've seen penis' grow, my own penis grow! I've seen people gain inches in height, and people lose weight, so i'm sure this is the better place to post.

my friend had the same problem, it took him a year to get rid of all the fat...

My wife has done some pretty amazing things with HCG. It targets fat on the body and I bet it would work. You might try a 21 day program of it but be warned, I think it's a 500 calorie/day diet. But I know you can lose about 1 1b per day.

What professionals suggest is that you bulk up and not do as much cardio. This gives you more breathing room for building muscle. Then after that you start cutting and doing more cardio. I suggest you not worry about putting on more fat, and go to the gym 3-4 times a week with low reps to avoid muscle exhaustion. After you put on enough muscle, you're gonna want to do more cardio like 30 minutes to an hour of intense workout. Personally, I'm doing the Insanity Workout which involves High Interval Training, and it will suck the fat right out of you, exposing the muscle you've been working on all this time. Good luck!

500 calorie, steroid diet... That's over 2000 calories less than what i eat now. Not sure how much good that would do really.

Bapify, why should i try and avoid muscle exhaustion? The thing is, if i bulk now, won't i just add on more fat? Unless i do a super clean bulk?

I just looked up the Insanity Workout, it seems interesting and i'd love to try it, but do i have to do it in front of the TV or computer? Can i just use the stuff he does and do it at the gym?

As long as you workout with the same intensity, you should be fine. The workouts are roughly 45 minutes long. One way you can judge if you've done it right is if you're drenched in sweat. If you're not sweating like a pig, you're doing it wrong. LOL.

Muscle burns fat, that's simple, it's also why just about every guy on Earth bulks first and cuts after.

It's also one of the main reasons you should separate your building and cutting phases, basically, if you attempt to combine them you're asking your body to do two almost opposite things at once. You can do it, but it takes one hell of a workout, one hell of a diet and one hell of a comittment. Most average working guys just don't have the resources needed.

You really can't target fat loss; but you can push it around at will. If you're pretty much OK with the rest of your body (or it's progress) then you can hit those lower abs like this:
1. Plastic wrap, just like you'd wrap leftovers with
2. Preparation H, Yep "The 'Roid Creme"
3. Neoprene sweat belt, about 10-15 bucks at any sporting goods store.

Before bed rub the ol' roid creme onto yer belly, Saran wrap that shit two or three times around then cinch that neoprene belt nice and snug. Not too tight, you still wanna breathe; should feel like a willing pussy all 'round yer middle.

Try that for about two weeks and let us know how ya feel.
Guys in the srevice have used this to make bodyfat measurements for years.

Now, don't neglect any of your other workout components; this is an adjunct, not a replacement.

I get what you're saying to do, but i don't quite get what it's going to do, Max?

It's a temporary procedure right? I just lose waterweight and then it comes back as soon as i drink anything?

If you're trying to bulk up, eat a ton of calories and do compound movements & little isometric movements. That's how I gained alot of bulk. I'm now almost done with my fifth month and will be going for a cut soon.

You cut some water, but mostly re-distribute the fat you can't seem to get rid of. If your goal is to expose those lower abs; this'll get it done.

Everytime I heard sweat belts mentioned before they were referred to as Bullshit. Are you sure about this? Any article / book you could reference?

Well, i guess i should try it at some point then. Usually what you say is good advice, Maxameyes, so i'll try it out.

Put one on, you'll sweat. Where's the bullshit?

It's not called a whiten-yer-teeth, fatten-yer-wallet, enlarge-yer-cock and solve-all-yer-problems-for-you belt.

sure you'll sweat, but the consensus seems to be that you're just losing water, not burning fat.

I don't quite get how fat will get re-distributed from it but hey, i'll try it.

I also downloaded the Insanity Fast and Furious workout. I'll probably do that in the morning when i wake up, about 9am and then got to the gym about 3pm. Hopefully those two combined is just gonna suck fat off. I really like the Insanity workout. It looks really good. It looks much more beneficial than jogging on a treadmill or working on the cross trainer.
