Hanging injury cause I didn't close the door

We've got 3 cats and they're 3 different sizes. I thought I'd give hanging a try and since there wasn't any readily available weights I grabbed the smallest cat. She's tiny, barely 10lbs if even that much.

I used her cat harness which after she wears it for half an hour she's totally comfy. The cat was not hurt in this endeavor in any way.

I hook her up to the LM and she's hanging just below my knees. She had a couple WTF type meows but when I talked to her she calmed down. Well her meows brought one of the other cats, the cat she hates. This is when it all went wrong.

She started swatting and hissing but the other cats aren't scared of her. Next thing I know she's doing a full on attack while swinging like a trapeze artist. My legs suffered the attack. I'm clawed up like crazy. Still don't know how I managed to unclip her without causing more damage to myself.

Now I can't wear shorts for a week since my lower legs look like I rolled around in thorn bushes and it's going to be really hot this week.

So yeah, shut the door when you hang. Don't want one cat pissing off the other.

Though you hurt yourself but it is also funny. I hope this doesn't stop you from training.

After reading how they do it, removing part of the bone in their toes, I refuse to do that to a cat. It's cruel. Plus every declawed cat I've ever been around bites.

This is very true

I'd post pics of the damage but my tattoos make me identifiable. I like to keep some anonymity on forums (I've seen people take things off of forums and into "real life" sometimes with horrific damage).

I certainly won't repeat this, at least with the door open. When they aren't fighting with each other our cats are pretty calm.

It is best to make sure the door is close when next you want to do your session with the cat as your preferred weight

It is really not that bad, the kitty is put to sleep and when they wake up they do not know any different. My kitty kept using her paws as she did when she had claws. She did not seem traumatized in any way. There is also another solution, can't remember what they are called but basically they trim the nails and put a protective, smooth caps on the claws. This prevents the scratching and the kitty has not been hurt in anyway. They are like $15 on Amazon.

I've seen the claw caps before. I can imagine how much my cats would struggle trying to put them on.

Honestly, I envy all those people who train length and girth on the same day. I wish I can train like that. Even though I finally realized that I am able to train like that, there are days when you just feel tired at night time when it's time for girth. Once I move out from this current place I'm living in, I will try to go back to training length and girth on same day.
