sometimes when i use my bathmate, the pressure would just release itself when trying to get to max pressure. i didnt know why this was happening and it was ruining workouts as it wouldnt allow me to get any expansion. i finally tried to fix it, and looked up how to take apart the bathmate (i didnt even know it was possible without breaking it). i found a tutorial and took the valve apart. upon inspection i noticed a thick white film around most internal parts, which i assume is a buildup of trapped soap from using it in the shower. i also found a couple of very small hairs. i scraped all the gunk off and washed all the parts in warm soapy water, then put it all back together. the next time i used it, absolutely no loss in pressure! even when i pushed it to the absolute max there was no air leaks or pressure loss.

so, clean out your bathmate valve! it only takes a few minutes.

note: to take the valve off, get a small flat head screwdriver and gently pry each slot at the side of the valve, evenly, a mm at a time. when the valve is loose, you can grip the black pip and pull it out, then clean it.

In most cases a loss in suction will be either a build up of dirt or too much pubic hair. In either case it is an easy fix but most men make the assumption there is something wrong with the pump. This is an excellent post Jordey. Do you have a link to the video you watched on cleaning?

Wow cool, I had no idea the valve could be taken apart, cleaned, and reassembled so easily

Yup, it is a snap! Keeping the BathMate clean will give good suction for ever.

Thanks for the link. I was wondering about cleaning mine the other day. I just wipe it down with my towel after I get out of the shower so it doesn't stay wet. I'll start taking it apart monthly just to make sure it stays in good shape.

yeah its so easy and doesnt take very long. if you ever have problems with suction or air leaks this will likely solve it!

If you are investing in the BathMate it is wise to maintain it. With any tool maintenance is important to it's performance. You would not buy a car and never maintain it or clean it, the same thing applies to the BathMate. Keep your pump clean and always have great function.

So I just checked out this video and cleaned my valve for the first time ever since I got it about a month and a half ago, (I usually rinse it through with warm water after each session) and I realized that my Hydromax 30 does not have that sponge or that black bottom part after taking it apart? Is mine a fake or just a different model? I have been using it with decent success for the past month and a half so I don't know and doubt if it was a scam or a fake one

No I didn't, I bought it through bathmate.ca the californian retailer I suppose

Actually Canadian. It sounds to be a knockoff from your description, this is the most vital reason men should buy through r=the Brotherhood, it is guaranteed. My best advice is to hound them until you get a refund and rebut here, in the Brotherhood. This is my best advice as BathMate will stand behind every order here, this is the best service anyone can get. I hope they take it back my friend.

So I followed the instructions video from bathmate to clean my extreme x40 is there a specific way to put the top last piece back on(the first piece u take off with the flat head screw driver) bc it's letting water out when turn upside down and not holding suction letting air in. Please help!! (Do the notches on top need to line up with bottom notches )

Yes, you will need to reseat the valve. Simply find a clean flat surface and with great strength compress the BathMate from the top, reseating the valve.

Eating a guy's bubble butt is a perfect treat for myself when I'm in a bath with my mate.

Cleaning the valve works ok. I have found soap and/or lube gets in the spaces in the clear portion the valve is on. It is really difficult to clean and I have considered the dishwasher but
I want to remain alive. If Mrs. Beertaxi found me cleaning my dick pump in her dishwasher a slow painful death would follow!
