BDS, we're from Finland. The poster probably says something along the lines of what you described, since the pic was taken this past summer when me and her were visiting a 'friend' of ours in Sweden (this gorgeous black girl, who I then hooked up with ).

Hehe Shafty, I grew up with English basically. I was watching English shows on the Sky Channel when I was a kid, and learned it that way. Interesting how it can work that way. To add to that, I have done some courses in English at university level. Hey, your English is great too!

Well thank you! I have a knack for picking up on new languages, and I had the privilege of being introduced to the English language at such an age where it is said that a child is most receptive to learning new lingual constructs (7-8 years of age). We lived in the Bay Area for two years back then, and for half a year just recently (+ several extended vacations in between), so I've learned the proper American accent and the writing skills. I actually also took a university level English course for foreign exchange students during our most recent stay over there, and I was by far the best pupil in my class. I even had to correct the teacher on occasion! (ok.. enough of the bragging :s )

You can really use your good English for a variety of purposes; for example, speaking with a flawless American accent when you're out clubbing is a surefire way to get attention from the ladies. They're all like ''where are you from? America, yes?'', and I have to make up a convincing story on my background. Too bad my hometown is only 80,000 people, so the word gets around pretty quick. It's fun, though.

Well, it can't be nearly as bad as the accent most Finnish peeps have. God, sometimes I just want to vomit when I hear a politician representing our country to the rest of the world, sounding like a malfunctioning robot with his monotonous babble. Can't blame em though, what with Finnish being totally unrelated to English in any way. There are absolutely no similarities, so it's no wonder people have a hard time learning good pronounciation. :blush:

Do you still speak Finnish, BTW, or is it just the writing skills that have stayed with you?

hehe yeah, I have heard Finnish people speaking English (Leningrad Cowboys come to mind lol).

I'm hanging on to the Finnish I've learned at home (and some at school when our country actually had tutors in one's mother tongue), but my vocabulary is severely lacking though. :/ Wish it were better, that way I could look for work over there too. =) My gf (soon to be ex? she's been ignoring me) is from Vaasa, Finland, and her native tongue is Swedish.

Yeah, it looks like we managed to mangle this thread up rather nicely. And I wouldn't know about Vaasa, since my Swedish sucks (ashamed to admit that I've never really had the motivation to study it as much as I should, mainly since I get along with English so well)!

I've been lifting steady for 8-9 years. That photo was about 2 1/2 years ago. Since, then I've probably leaned out a little more and added maybe 5-10 lbs muscle. (never juiced)
You know whats funny, if i knew what I know now about training and diet, i would probably got to where I am alot faster. But... lets not get started on the "if I know what I know now" rant... be here all day reading.

I've been lifting about 20 minutes two times per week since March 1st. The short routine fits into my busy schedule and keeps me from getting burned out. As I look through my workout log, I clearly see strength gains, although they're really slowing down now. From looking in the mirror, I can see significant progress too. How long do you think one has to lift consistently (I had stints with lifting in high school and college, until things got busy and I got off track) to get a body that remotely resembles someting like yours? I never thought I would actually see visible results in six months or so, but how long does it often take for a person with an average build to transform into someone that clearly, by one look at their appearance, looks like someone that bodybuilds?

Well, I guess that depends on what your definition of a hot girl is. We have plenty of those cookie-cutter Hollywood-type blonde hotties, but the ethnic variation isn't as diverse (at least not where I live, even though it's a decent sized city in central Finland), so my favorite flavor isn't all that easy to find. However, if you dig those blonde nordic hotties then you're guaranteed to have a blast here!

Oh yeah, and to adress your question on how long it will take to start looking even remotely like Bigeasy: a veeeryyy loooong time (at least 3-4 years IF you do things the right way from the get-go), unless you happen to be blessed with superior genetics or if you do gear the enitire time. However, the change you start to notice immediately in your body composition is quite dramatic if you haven't lifted steadily before. You will look like an athletic person soon enough, but to look muscular it will take far longer.

Actually I don't live that close to Helsinki- the place where I live is in central Finland, about a 5 hour train ride from Helsinki. It's a city of 80,000 people, so we better meet in Helsinki if you're from Pittsburgh and you're looking for a good time! I know my way around Helsinki rather decently, since I take weekend trips there pretty often with my buddies.

Funny thing about the weather.. it has been real shitty and rainy for the past week or so, but now it's totally beautiful again: crystal clear blue skies and warm sunshine. Go figure... ?
