Guys, first of all I haven't been faithfully hanging due to my schedule changing during the summer. I've been doing a lot of manual stretches..nothing with full dedication other than a maintenance type routine.

But I've done plenty of research and came to my own conclusions about some things and just how simple this really is. Now I just have to exert myself regularly.

IMO, manual stretches definitely work but hanging offers a controlled resistance which can be monitored. The one thing I have never enjoyed about hanging is the BTC (between the cheeks) position due to never getting comfortable. But that doesn't matter because there are more ways than one to skin a cat.

One of the things I noticed in reading about the biggest gainers is that they really stretch their tunica thoroughly. So I thought about that for a while and remembered a stretch I did when I first started hanging...

I used to hang first thing in the morning with about 15lbs for 15 to 20 min while I shaved and brushed my teeth. After a very short while I noticed that I didn't feel a great stretch anymore but I couldn't go up with the weight on the modified hanger I was using without experiencing pain. So to keep the stretch going I would bend forward.

Well, I did that the other day using the starter model with 10lbs, then 12.5, then 15 and now at 17.5lbs but here's what I'm doing. I hang straight down then carefully bend forward noticing how the weight effects the tunica. Each slight bend of 2 to 3" changes the feel...super good stretch! I go all the way down until my hands touch the floor. You would think that the SO stretch would be efficient enough but there's zero resistance if you can lean forward.

One thing I can tell you that you will notice is the pubic area is somewhat sore from the straight down angle. But the next day I'm really sore under my balls and on the shaft of my cock...very cool feeling.

Try it and see how it feels to you.
 
good question. I try to stay bent over for as long as possible during my 20 min set but I find myself kind of in a continuous motion, going from the standing straight up position then to bending over (supporting my lower back by placing my hands on my thighs) and then to placing my hands on the ground. You can bend your legs or straighten them to make the position as comfortable as possible. You will get more flexible by the 2nd or 3rd time you do it.

Just try it one time and tell me how it felt.
 
Great post, OCD. I've played around with this myself, but never thought to post about it. I usually hang BTC for all my sets, b/c I feel I have a lot to gain from stretching the ligs. You're right on the money with varying the angles in the SD to SO. I find I have to play around with body position sometimes to find a comfortable angle for BTC stretching. Leaning back all the way in my chair will usually be too stressful for my skin, but leaning a couple inches forward will be fine. Hit all the angles and find what gives you the best gains.
 
I forgot to add one thing...if you feel you don't want to risk leaning over and trying to touch the floor then try this variation.

Stand in front of a sink or cabinet, about 2 feet or so away, and then put your hands on the sink and just bend at the waist making your body a 90 degree angle. That's how I found this stretch initially.

Thanks Bigsack for making me think of something else about the angles and ligs...if anybody does try this stretch I'm positive you will feel it BIG time. But the other day I was doing it and was bent over and feeling a huge stretch under my balls. So naturally I decided to massage the area a little and I felt a thick tendon. And I'm talking thick, and it ran from my anus to my cock. As I stood up, I continued to touch it to see how it "moved" kind of thing and the closer I got to standing erect the more it felt like it went up to where the ligs are that I used to feel when I did the BTC position..weird huh? The penis is too complicated for me so instead of trying to become a urologist I'll just do the exercises...stretch make long cock, squeeze make fat cock, kegels make hard cock...tequilia makes ugly woman pretty!

That's kind of the weird thing. I hardly feel any pull at all. I reach by my balls and feel the tunica and it's getting a really good pull. It's getting pulled so tight it almost feels like steel. I barely feel anything other than slightly more pressure on the head of my penis.
 
"feels like steel"...ain't that the truth. Steel cables.

I would ask the obvious about the last time you increased the weight or what weight are you at but it's all relative to feel to me. Sounds like you might need to adjust the hanger if you're getting too much pressure in the head though regardless of the angle of the stretch.
 
I'd say you are probably right. I'm in the experimental stage right now and although I'm circumsized, I have enough forskin to make hanging a pain in the ass. I don't know how those guys on the videos available here do the wrapping and hanging so effortlessly. No matter what I do the bib ends up riding on the ridge of my head.

About 7 days ago I went up to 10lbs, from 7 1/2.
 
I've come to the conclusion that the bib hanger is as complicated/frustrating/rewarding as a woman. If I'm off just a hair with my adjustments, pain with very little weight. If I have it set just right I can get 20lbs with limited pressure in the head.

For my wrap, I'm using a t-shirt first then a 2" [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/forum/showthread.php?44-Ace-Strapped-Jims-Joint]ace bandage[/words] over the t-shirt. You might want to experiment with your settings on the bottom of the hanger. I found that the wider I go on the bottom two settings, the more comfortable. And it seems just the opposite...i feel like I should have then set real tight but that's very, very painful that way.

I know what you mean, sometimes the weight is completely comfortable, hardly feel it, and other times I have to stop after a few minutes because of the pain. I'm optimistic because when I see 10 or 15# hanging in the mirror, I think it just has to work. Even if it is for only 10 minute sets. My whole pubic area gets pulled down at least an inch, not to mention what's going on with the tunica.

How long have you been hanging and have you made any gains? I can't see how a person would not gain at least something with 20# hangin' off his dick. Even for ten minutes. That's better than any manual stretch could do, I think.

One guy told me he gained 2 inches in 8 months of hanging 22.5#, 10 hours a week. He's been off for a year and he's seen no loss of gains.
 
I started hanging with the modified bib hanger (cut piece of pvc pipe and a hose clamp) at the end of 2001. I made many rookie mistakes, bought the regular bib hanger in 2002, got too frustrated from seeing no gains because of not getting the toe in/toe out thing right and just gave up.

I re-started hanging back in June, 2005 and definitely gained. Go to the Routines/Progress threads and I kept an ongoing daily log for a couple of months. I quit hanging regularly somewhere in Aug or Sept due to my schedule and have made some bigtime routine changes...this way of hanging being bent over being one of them.

The tunica seems to be the way most guys gain that only stretch manually. Well, I got to thinking that if that's the way they made big gains then I'll apply that to hanging and pull way back on the number of sets and treat it just like a manual stretch routine, except I get the benefits of a controlled resistance and am able to regulate the amount of stress put on the tunica w/the weights.

So now I'm just doing one set per day, right before bed for 20 minutes. Last night I hooked everything up and put the weight on the hanger (17.5lbs) and slowly lowered it while standing...I swear I could actually feel the tissues stretching and 'breaking free' from a feeling of normal. Weird but very, very cool.
