Well, I've built 4 of them now and the users have all loved them.

If I had to rebuild them, I would use a strong glue in addition to the sticky velcro, it loses it's hold after a while and you have to put new pieces on.

Love mine though!
 
It's a good hanger. I used to use mine a lot until I bought Stillwantmore's old Bib Starter. If you've never tried hanging, building a Captn's Wench is the way to go. If you get really serious about it and start using heavy weight, I'd drop the money for a Bib (or wait until I re-sell the Starter in the spring ;) )
 
Read the Bib site for a comparison. I haven't used the full-sized Bib, but for most people the starter is plenty.
 
Im about to build a wench, but I got 2 questions. for all those who have used Captn's Wench hanger. How much have you guys gained? And can you gain just as well with the Wench as you can with a bib starter?

My personal experience is that the Captns Wench is good for hanging lower/lighter weights (like Cyclops said) - I haven't used mine in a long time, but I used to use it for a semi-ADS. I could hook low weight to it and leave it on for longer than the normal 10-20 minute hang sets. This is because I could never get the Captns Wench to grip as tightly as my homemade bib-type hanger. Since I couldn't get it to grip as tightly, I could never use heavier weight (and I tried a multitude of wraps). My personal opinion... use a bib or homemade bib to hang heavier weights (whatever you are conditioned to use) and get to lig/muscle fatigue. I personally believe the feeling many refer to as lig fatigue is really muscle fatigue of the pelvic area muscles. These muscles naturally resist anything pulling on your penis, but once they are fatigued, you are able to get the full force of the weights pulling/stretching primarily on your ligs. At this point the weight is pulling against the passive resistence of the physiological tissue structure of the ligs and/or muscles, as opposed to the active resistence of the pelvic muscle contraction.

This is just my theory though, and I would like to hear others comment on this. I started a thread on this some time back (maybe a year ago?), questioning the effect of kegeling to build PC muscle strength while trying to gain length, but nobody responded. Undoubtedly, kegeling is good for girth stuff, but for length stuff, I still have questions about strengthing the muscles which I believe resist length efforts. Anyway... I'm digressing.

So, I like the Captns as a beginning hanger (prob up to 5 lbs), then for secondary use as a post fatigue, extended hang/low weight stretcher. Again, just my opinion/experience.
 
well it says the bib starter is for under 6 inches and i'm over 6 inches and 5 inches in girth which is right in the area it's made for so imma go with that one.

It doesn't say that anywhere on the site. Where did you get that?
 
I use a modified wrench and i like it. I have hung 20 pound so far but i feel it coul hold more. I used more material for the par that goes around and i used erasers and i used the large clamp to hold it all down not the medium.

I can understand the use of erasers to supplant the rubber grips, but why do you use the large clamp instead of the medium one?
 
oh i have no idea. my flaccid girth is a lil over 5". So it's not excessively large. I think it had to do with the erasers, I think they are thicker than what the wrench calls for.
