That is if I measure from the underside of my penis. The difference between measuring on the bottom versus the top is about half an inch and the difference between measuring from the side and the top is a quarter of an inch.
In terms of keeping track of gains, I measure from the top but I think that it is highly possible that in these recent debates about women not being able to judge a guy's size, that a lot of it has to do with the fact they are viewing the penis from the underside during oral sex (assuming she is facing you) and really have no idea where the shaft begins and where it ends since the skin is attached to the balls, unless of course your balls hang low and you can notice the difference. From the top it is easy to notice where the shaft is attached to the pubic bone (well fat pad actually), but from the bottom I think it is pretty difficult and the way the pubic bone slopes down from the top I think is responsible for that little bit of extra length.
So maybe women are not as bad at measuring up their boyfriends when it comes to overestimation as some of us would like to believe, rather they are basing their measurements on a standard that Penis Enlargement'ers don't use (measuring bone pressed from the bottom).
Last but not least, due to this angle difference I would imagine you can use this extra half an inch on the underside of the penis in certain positions to go a little deeper where you angle it so that the underside is the point of entry.
Just a thought.
