At this point i think everyone wants to be modest lol. I will just come out and say I want it, you should be the judge of the situations. I just had 17,000 in car work done after hitting a deer and still have urgent repairs on my wifes car, have major repairs for the home those are the major things on my plate right now. I dont consider myself poor as i have food on the table and a roof over my head.

Okay.....

This month's rent is finally getting paid today...17 days late.

Electric bill is 2 months behind but I think we can get it halfway caught up this week.

Exactly 2 weeks ago we were scheduled for our natural gas to be shut off the following Monday morning but we skipped paying the rent in order to keep the house heated and have hot water.

Trying to get some OT at work to get these things paid down faster but it's not easy to get extra hours.

Yes I'm being honest.

So I just want to say how great this is. I had a member do this for me back in December. I had been unemployed for months and just could not afford it. I'm currently back working which is why I have not been as active as normal, I took whatever job I could get and that just so happened to be a job working 12 hours a day 7 days a week so there's that.

As far as receiving the gift goes I'll forever be grateful. I absolutely love my bm and use the thing religiously. Truly hope the one who needs it the most is who receives this, I personally know this same situation had helped my pe journey so much and side note my wife loves me using my bm before sex also haha so that keeps me consistent as well as me knowing someone gave me their winning so I feel I have to stay using it as much as possible to get the most out of it for them basically. I dont know why but I felt the need to say all that.

Dld and the other brothers here are mos are amazing men and truly have a passion for just helping others. Love this community keep it up guys.

DLD I messaged you.

I'm a college student, tuition isn't cheap.

Could buy three length masters for the price of a book that is required to have.

Why not buy the book off eBay? You could get it so much cheaper and that would give you money to spare.

You don't know exactly which book you need until the first day of class (there's "new editions" all the time), you'll need the book the first week of class, and you won't get it for a week and a half ordering online unless you do the expedited shipping which at that point you might not save anything.

I had that exact situation happen to me with at least 1 class every semester. It's happening more and more too. The professors get pressured by the schools to upgrade to the new editions if they're resistant to change. Some of them co-authored the book and every revision so they're making money from it changing every year. I compared editions of a book one time and it was such a drastic change I thought I was looking at 2 different books on the same subject.

It's all a money making racket.

I could have literally purchased a car with the amount I spent on books in undergrad lol. The sad part is that I didn't pay full price for all of them. Sometimes you will get lucky and a digital copy will be floating around that isn't vastly different from the newest version. The reason getting it from an external like ebay didn't always work for me was because certain books had codes needed to unlock additional content that some teachers just felt was necessary (even if a large portion of it didn't contribute to furthering our understanding as students). When getting books that had functional codes you'd end up spending roughly the same amount that the books cost in the book store so it wasn't really any savings. I do see that now publishers are letting you buy the codes separately so that's always a plus, just a little too late for me lol.

I got out of college 11 years ago so online content wasn't happening yet. I was happy if I spent under $400 each semester on books. The worst part was when you barely used the book, maybe have 2 or 3 assignments from it all semester. I have a few books I don't think I even used but they swore we needed them.

One professor used his books in a really messed up way. On Tuesday he'd assign a chapter, you didn't know which one he was going to assign ahead of time either. Then Thursday he'd have a quiz on the chapter. His quiz was reciting one line from the chapter word for word. You couldn't summarize the idea, you needed to know that specific sentence. I hated that guy, only took 1 class with him for my minor. I was not alone in hating him either. He wasn't even liked by professors in the department because he was an arrogant prick.

Wow, that is some serious money. And the school books are a big racket but I figured some books would be easily purchased online. There is no way to get the list prior to class? I wish there was something you could do. Well, you always have the monthly contest that you can win the equipment.

Getting the book list ahead of time is up to the professor and the school's policies. They figure the cost of books is miniscule compared to everything else. I went to a state university and FT tuition and fees was around $3600 or 3800 per semester at the time. What's $4-600 for books on top of that, right?

I had grants due to having a family of 4 with our income at the time. Plus I'm a veteran so I got a little more help with grants. I ended up $18.5k in debt with student loans. Every semester I had the option to have the leftover from my student loans given to me. It averaged $500 so I always took it and bought my books. It's still a lot of damn money when all you're buying is 4-6 books.

or you can DIY it and make a poor mans version until you can buy the real thing and support MOS in a big way. Mine is working out great this time around after the first one i mangled. I have an idea on an alternate grip setup for it that i need to take into the shop. I get a better grip on the Y axis rather than X. this makes the current system a smidge not as grip intensive. If i get it to where i like it ill shoot you a shot DLD to see what you think.

Also a great option.

This honestly sounds like you could be working on the next generation of these devices. If it's ok with DLD, could you share some design notes? I think it would be a great way to see your thought process in tackling this and hopefully learn more about how it works/should work.
