Hey folks.
this is my first post...and it has nothing to do with Penis Enlargement.

I've been seriously considering joining the Navy. My problem is that I don't know anyone in the military. I'd like to hear from anyone who's served in the arm forces (particularly Navy). But if you know someone who's been in the military please feel free to chime in.

Please include SPenis EnlargementCIFICS about what you/they did, liked, hated, experienced, learned, etc. Remember I want DETAILS not vague things like "I liked it", "he hated it", "it's ok", etc.

Perhaps it would be helpful to tell you a little more about myself:
I'm 26 yo
i'm living with my parents again (yeah I know)
blew most of my college funds 'cause I had no direction
few job prospects besides profesional burger flipper

What I would hope to get out of the Navy/Military:
discipline-mental toughness
skills training
fnancial assistance so I can get a Ph.D. in psychology (eventually)

By the way, I promise to respect all views, opinions, perspectives, stories, etc. I hope you can too.

I'm not really pro-war, far from it in fact...
but this might be something I have to do....

any info/advice would be greatly appreciated.

this forum fucking rocks!!

p.s. : getting back to Penis Enlargement....Do you think I would ever have enough privacy/freetime to get in at least 1 good Penis Enlargement workout once a day?!?!

Anchors Away My Boys!! Anchors Away!! (get it?)
thanks

You tryin' to go enlisted or officer?
Have you already got a degree, if so, what?
If not, what skill sets do you posess that will help you pick your rate?
Do you know what rate you might want?
Do you know what a rate is?
Have you done any research yet as to your contract options?
Are you willing to give Uncle Sugar the next eight years of your life?
How's your physical fitness/bodyfat levels?
Do you have any medical conditions/allergies/sea-motion-sickness ?
How's your criminal record?
How's your credit rating?
Are you a citizen?
Do you have anything that would prevent you from getting a security clearance?
All these and more should be answered before you seriously consider joining the service.

Two places to go for more detailed info are:
1. The US Navy
for just about all the info you might need
2. Benefiting the US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard - Military.com
for just about everything the "NAVY" leaves out of their site, this one also has a practice ASVAB test you can take.

Gather up some info and then when you can ask a few more detailed questions we can give ya some more detailed answers.

Good luck

Wow maxameyes thanks for the great reply!
Now I'll have a lot more questions to ask if and when I do talk to a recruiter!
thanks a lot

Welcome brother,

Retired Chief & Disabled Vet here ready to help out anybody who wants to answer the call to service !!

Now that the hoo-rah speech is over, any other Q's ya might have just fire 'em off. Joining the service is a big-ass decision and shouldn't be taken lightly. One last thing to remember: The recruiters technically can't lie to ya....but they only need to answer what you ask and once you've signed that contract, it's a legally binding agreement between you and the Gub'ment. And guess who's got the most practice coverin' their own asses !?!

Like I said, good luck and congrats, hope I helped just a little.

I'll give you my two cents as well---and no, I'm not looking for a political debate here nor will I allow this to turn into one--he asked for opinions so please do not rebut me or anyone else through this thread.

Now--

My opinion is that if I were you I would think long and hard about your decision. My wife just got out of the military and I'll tell you that there are so many time that they(military) will fuck you over and there's just no logic to it whatsoever. Also--you really need to consider that we have a trigger happy dodger for president who would be more than happy to trade you life for a few barrels of oil or a big poppy field. If I was you, I would wait and see who wins the next election.

my two cents--

Damn good observation, man, damn good. And the point you bring up is one of the many reasons that signing up is such a tough and personal choice. Me? I originally signed on'cuz the economy tanked where I was living back in the early 80's. But I got into a damn fascinating line of work (hovercraft) and decided to stay in. And some of MY reasons were not for "The Prez" or the Gub'ment or anything like that; I looked around, at my retired old Grandparents, my kids goin' to school, folks in my neighborhood and just regular workin' stiffs like me and I decided that that was what I was serving for.

(I know it sounds completely cornball...but WE are America, not the government. Sometimes we, as the electorate, need to remember that...as well as reminding the elected of that very same fact.)

It's a tough and mostly thankless job, although some guys are all ate up on the awards and medals and pomp and crap, but it's one you gotta love to stick with.

The other point ya bring up is one that I myself kept screamin' about for about the last half, or so, of my career.
One of the principles I was taught and stuck to was that you always looked out for yer troops. Whether they needed training, time off or a good swift kick in the ass. And I saw, and got disgusted by, way too fuckin' much dereliction on that count. Guys in authority not taking care of their people, or even worse, actively fuckin' them over. I just couldn't stand it.
Unfortunately a lot of the old values and traditions (that I couldn't stand either when I was a short pumper) are going away and along with them a lot of balls, guts and dedication. If you've got a good Chief or Gunny (or whatever they got in the Army or Air Force that might be equivalent) life is damn good...but if you got a sorry excuse who wears his rank in name only, and just to further HIS or her career; then life can truly suck hind tit.

That's why I said: it's a damn tough decision, don't just jump into it. Knowledge is power.

If you start training, remember the only two answers to your commanding officer are "Yes, Drill Sargeant," or "No, Drill Sargeant." Any other will get you in trouble. ;)

I work for the military as a civilian and it's definitely a cooler environment than I ever thought it would be. When I was young, I literally thought a military career was nothing but 20+ years of someone in your face just like Full Metal Jacket. It's not like that at all, once you get past the tough initial phases, from everyone I've talked to. And that's certainly not the daily life of the soldiers and Marines I work with everyday. I have some civilian coworkers that are current reservists and they absolutely love it. I remember hearing stories of servicemen that would spend so much time drinking and fucking, and all I could think of was the DI from Full Metal Jacket and think to myself "How do they have time and how do they get away with it?"

The military has put together some training in recent years that really emphasises officers should be empathetic (though not tolerating anything they shouldn't) and genuinely care about their men. That being said, everyone in has told me the same thing MAXAMEYES said...that if you get a prick running your life, it will be a miserable life.
