Hi guys, i dont know what section to post this in, but over the last few months i have been shaving my balls & dick more regularly, once every few months, recently i have noticed small scars / craters in my penis that seem to be stemming from ingrown hairs? i was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

I had surgery on my penis when i was about 6 to save a testicle, and the skin from my ballsack comes up higher than it should, so i get hairs higher up my shaft than most people i think.

Any solutions? I will attach a pic to show what i mean. They are circular holes that go into the skin, like craters, and some are getting bigger. They are almost like acne scars

If anyone can help i would appreciate it immensely !

I shave every 2-3 days and I haven't had this problem. I've also been doing it for a few months. The only problems I've had is an occasional cut on the testicles... same problem when you shave anything. But no real scars or divots or anything like that. I use shaving cream, and lather it up and stretch whatever I'm shaving and use care. Also I read on here somewhere that to avoid ingrown hairs that you should shave the direction the hair grows-not against the hair (ie mostly shaving down, not up-assuming penis is pointing down, etc.) So you might try that if you are shaving the wrong way-not sure why it would cause scarring like you have though. I get an occasional pimple from the shaving, I assume it's an ingrown hair, etc. And I doubt that extra hairs on your shaft would make a difference.

I got those too when I first started shaving, after my skin grew accustomed to shaving that never happened again. But, if I were to start shaving again now I am sure I would have to go through the irritation again. For me it lasted about 2 weeks until it stopped.

Will they close back up and "heal" do you think?, when im flaccid they look like huge pores / deep acne scars, which im hating at the moment.

Just tell the ladies they are the newest thing, "speed bumps" or claim they cut down on air resistance perhaps. Just kidding, i wouldn't want pocs on my cock either. I'm sure there is a cream you can use to minimize the scarring-I've seen things like this advertised on TV.

Nah, just very irritated pores, this will stop happening before too long. For me it took two weeks before I was used to it.

I would suggest Jelqing with some Vaseline may help even the skin out and smooth irritation.

Or shaving with Vaseline. That's what Jenna Jameson suggested! I do it all the time if I want to get a close shave.

i have this problem too! mine appear deeper than yours and have never gone away. im scared i may have damaged the hair follicles when shaving to harshly/blant razor when younger, i would love to know how to get rid of them, theyve been there for a few years now.

You could opt to have the follicles removed through epidermal means. There is a thread somewhere on the forums about new ways to remove hair permanently, I can't remember the name, hopefully someone will chime in with a link.

I don't have any suggestions for your existent "scarring" but there are a few things that cam minimize this in the future

Shave after a shower when the hair is softer and your skin more resilient
Use shaving oil as a lubricant, olive oil works well too
ALWAYS use a brand new razor-they're sharpest and least likely to carryover bacteria or skin irritants
Finish off with Neosporin, Bacitracin or some other type of anti-biotic ointment
If the hair's much longer than stubble then knock it down with an electric razor first
Try some type of moisturizer on yer whole"crotchal" area, keep the skinn supple so any hairs potentially growing under the surface will have an easier time reaching the surface.

Hope this helped, good luck.

P.S. Try to keep the irritation to a minimum

There are two products that I have come across that are great for shaving and ingrowns:

- Coochy shave gel (available all over the web) for the shaving
- PFB for use as an aftershave.

The PFB really helps keep the skin in great shape afterwards and will help bring out any ingrowns fairly quickly.

That said, you've got to be diligent about it or else you could end up in worse shape. I'm finding that the ingrowns I got from last time when I forgot to use PFB are just getting deeper and deeper and they end up turning into big purple blotches from the expansion with clamping and Bathmate. It's pretty awful, and short of taking some time off from Penis Enlargement I'm not sure what to do. I have one that I think is an infected follicle now, a couple inches up the shaft on the bottom and it's the size of a giant wart, disgusting, and painful. Very deep below the skin so I can't just lance it with a sterile needle. It's big enough that I'm going to have to give it a name...
