Why are we calling average, small?

If average flaccid size is only 3 to 4 inches then why do so many people say that penis in that range are small?

I can't think of the name but this celebrity had his photo taken nude and the comments were that he had a small penis but it seemed to fall into average, so why would this be considered small?
 
That is a simple one dude... We are OBSSESSED with hugeness...to put it simply, even if it were a mile long we would STILL view it as small because of our own distorted perceptions of reality.

An analogy would be a bodybuilder whom is huge, ripped to shreads, in grat shape and totally conditioned and symetric and looks at his mirror...what does he see? he sees himself as small, out of shape, fat and with lots and lots of hardwork and dieting to do until perfection is in his reflection .( along with all the "extra" help, i.e., drugs )

What i mean is, i started at 6.5x6.5, i'm at 8x7.6 and i STILL think i have a small one although my girl tells me i am CRAZY HUGE ( her words ), even though she jerks me off with 2 hands WHILE she blows me i want a damn hose for a dick where my functional penis should suffice BUT DOESN'T...

We tend to get somewhat desensitized regarding our own size cause we spend so much time envying dudes like ramon or mandingo who have enormous dicks to begin with.

Over here 8x6 is considered a perfect size, less than that people tend to see as almoust there but not quite even despite the fact that MOST women would run from them scared for their lives :)

You're right on there Mike.
I've gone from 5.75 to over 7bpsfl and still think of myself as small.
8x6 is the target I set, but that isn't the 'ideal'. 8x6 I perceive as "big enough". Anything less is seen as not quite there, exactly as you said.
I am trying to work on my self-perception but when you see all these huge dicks in adult entertainment and on the internet it is a difficult task.
 
we think the average is small because ..well mainly..women have an expectation of larger dicks, they believe 6-7.5 is the norm. so they see 4 inches, then they laugh or think it's small. so naturally we're here crazy over our size trying to meet or exceed expectations.

Lets cheer this up and make it a haven for us all that want the very best for ourselves and our better halves.

I know this is not the thread for it but i feel we can go further than we have so far.

the thing is since the media exploits penis size so much, most people usually expect a guy to be a horse or a donkey (donkey for the size queens) in the package department...so when these horseback riders see an average size flaccid or erect penis they brand it as a small penis...
 
If 'we' refers to the Penis Enlargement community, then a better analogy would be found in the bodybuilding/powerlifting communities. While the average layperson without any training may put up 155-185 lbs at the bench press, lets say... an athlete/enthusiast, obviously, would label such a person as being weak. They are looking at the layperson from the perspective of someone who has trained for years if not decades.

All perceptions are relative in the end anyway: a forum of whales (if they had the mental faculties to congregate as we do) would be mired with jokes about humans all being microphallic.
 
With respect to Jude Law: he's called small because people would otherwise figure such a highly ranked dude in society has to be hung like a donkey to match all the other positive traits ascribed to him. Basically, as a ladies' man, he was presumed to be huge until proven otherwise.

Do i want my girlfriend to have an average ass or an epic ass? no one is happy with average because average is pathetic.
 
I woudnt say that, very cynical to say the least. Everyone is an individual and are entitled to be as such. Sure I love a nice shapely toned ass on a women but its not the bee all and end all for me on a women, I'm not that shallow and more of a man to see the finer things in a lady like her personality, eye colour and things we can share together.

Regarding this subject, reasons why average is considered small, small is tiny and even big considered high average or average is that adult entertainment has WARPenis EnlargementD ''certain'' minds, and note I say certain as not everyone watches adult entertainment and its more male issue than women actually thinking about an average size being small, how ridiculous.

Also on these type of forums where men are usually obsessed with the subject matter and are often, not all the time but often unstable about their bodies, insecure with penis size than see penis size VERY differently ... they want to be so large and huge that they become consumed by just that and everything else gets shelved in a virtual memory filing cabinet and often labelled much less than it would be ... when you father something you become very biased and that is in my opinion why average has become small.
 
the picture of jude naked doesn't show up, but I was reading about it. Jesus if he hangs 3-4 and every one there thinks he's small that's a little disappointing. I hang 4 inches and im a grower not a show'r...

The size-obsessed guys all have my sympathy. If a girl says a guy's huge he's usually slightly above average at best since the majority of females' "measurements" are grossly overestimated. I'm 6 1/2" NBP (the measurement that matters since it's what's seen) 7 1/8" BP and all the girls I've been with say I'm big. Plus, women don't watch adult entertainment nearly as much as men so the the big dick perception is much less prevalent. Add to that the fact that men are more likely to work in a field that requires taking measurements like construction and manufacturing and you can see why our size estimations are usually more accurate. Those who feel some need to label average guys small are usually the more insecure ones trying to puff up their own self image. Average is average. If average is small then the words have no meaning and we might as well just stop using all the size terms altogether.
 
I wish everyone could just be content about dick sizes, the adult entertainment industry and their camera angles definitely changed the perception of every man and their penis
