I have also done that.
Indeed you need to cut off people (from your life) who do not support you, and who are destructive for your own well-being, and your own development/growth in life.
It's a hard lesson, with a lot of pain, but a lesson we need to take.
I also cut off some of my siblings because they are against my music career.

So you are into music, that's really interesting.
My sisters have been trying to talk me out of my music career. Women have sluggish spirit. They cannot relate to the dreams, goals, drive or aspirations of a man. Ambitious men should avoid women until they get to their destination.
