Hi,
I never write on these boards because, by and large, people here are more expert than I am.
In any event. Regarding this topic I am an expert (even if I say so myself). I am a professional athlete and a coach.
Anyway. What you need to do is this:
First step: Get your diet in order. Fresh meat, fish, vegtables and fruit. Try not to eat pasta, bread, patatoes, or rice. If you have to, at least make sure it is "brown". Drink tonnes of water - the more you drink, the less you retain. And start training. Run, cycle, walk, skip, do push ups, pull ups (if you can), squats, jumping jacks etc. The key to good training is intensity so always work your ass off and if your not sweating hard your not expercising hard.
Goal: Have a good diet 9 - 9 Mon to Fri. Run (actually RUN) a mile.
Second Step: Start lifting
weights. Either in a gym or at home. Follow the simple stuff. Bench press, curls, choulder press, good morning, deadlift, squat, bent over row, pull-ups. And start to do sets of 20 yard sprints rather than long jogs. Clean up your diet even more. Eat 5 - 6 meals a day, graze on fruit. A lot of fruit is 20 peices a day, 10 is good, 5 is the minimum.
Goal: Bench press 75% of your body
weight once. Sprint 100 yards jog 100 yards sprint 100 yards without rest and feel great x 5. Deadlift your own
weight. Have a good diet 9 - 9 Mon to Fri plus 6 pints of water a day.
Third step: Engage in more sports. You should know enough about training by now. More variety in everything you do. Ask a coach to show you Olympic lifts. Start with the "power clean and push press". Then the "Clean and press" then the "over head squat" then the "snatch". Set O-lifts with pull-ups / rope climb etc.
Goal: at least 1 set of 10 pull ups. Snatch 75% body
weight. Sprint 100 yards jog 100 yards sprint 100 yards without rest and feel great x 10.
Have a good diet 9 - 9 Mon to Fri plus 6 pints of water a day.
Forth step: (by now you should know enough about training to not need advice) hopefully by now you will only need the following advice -
Diet Goal: Paleo
Training Goal: Cross Fit
I hope that helps.
