Doing it right now seek. I just moved on to phase II of it and trust me it's not easy. I enjoy body workouts much more than going to the gym and lifting, I just feel better and not as tight. I would have to say that if you havent been active or go to the gym then start slowly with this workout and work you way up, cause its a bitch. I havent had a workout in which my clothes arent completely soaked in sweat. I will give you some pros and cons.

Pros

Military style work outs (not all but some, mainly push up and pull ups)
Most workouts last 1 hr (high intenisty low rest time)
Done in your own home
Limited equipment needed (might want to get a pull up tower and some free weights*)
Get you into shape (more of a lean ripped look although you can get size just up the weights and decrease reps)
Plenty of modification in exercises (for the ladies)
Flexibility also included (Yoga and some others, ladies kill at the Yoga)
Diet and meal program included

Cons

Listening to Tony can really get annoy after a month (haha) but there are options to listen to only cues, or you can watch the whole workout in silence (other options also)

Definitely try to get the wifey involved because you will need a partner to get you through it.
Legs are difficult, but it will be hard to add size there (if you want it) because most exercised are free weight (lunges, one legged squats...etc) and you can only hold so much weight

That is what I have experienced so far with the program. I really enjoy it and feel that it making me strong and reshaping my body without having to spend really more than a hour a day. Just to give you an idea, I have gone from 214 lbs to 198 lbs in about a months time (not all of that is p90x, I work as a forecaddie at golf course, but I did lose 5 lbs from p90x prior to starting work). If you have any other questions feel free to hit me up and I will be glad to help you any way that I can.

*Also I have the pull/chin up bar that the sell for 60 bucks, but I went and bought a fairly inexpensive pull/chin up bar and use that so I didnt have to screw holes in my wall. I had their's (p90x) pull up bar mounted in my old place and it worked great, I am just not allowed to put holes in the walls at my new place (I can give you more info on this if you start looking into it).

ordered my [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/mosdvd.htm]DVD[/words] set last night. The better half is not happy about the pull ups but she can deal with that when she gets there. Heading to the local sporting good store to pick up a couple of cheap durable pull up bars for my door.

you will enjoy it! Make sure that you keep her accountable and that she keeps you accountable. There are ways around the pull ups (using chairs or bands or you can even help her). Just record your numbers and try to beat them everytime you work out. Let me know if there is anything else that I can do to help. Good luck seek!

Just finished up the first week with p90x. My body is asking me why in the hell i decided to do this. Intense workouts is all i can say thus far. I could barely bend my arms past 90 degrees until 4 days after the chest and back workout

Ha..I know the feeling. Keep working seek, sorry I havent been around lately. Had a small injury and some other things going on but I am back on track with my routine. Later

Week 3 finished after today. Starting to feel much better. Dropped 5lbs so far. I cannot wait to start getting more carbs in my diet, energy depletion is beginning to hit hard some days. Oh yah, I hate Ab RipperX, that workout hurts so bad i cant even describe it. If anyone does not want to invest in the entire p90x system, then hit fleabay and pick up Ab Ripper X or find a god torrent of it, you wont be disappointed.

well I'm not 100% sure what you're talking about exactly I'm assuming it's a workout routine [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/mosdvd.htm]DVD[/words]. Also what type of diet are you guys on and is the diet a part of the workout like....does it give you the diet?

One problem I've -really- had losing weight is diet I just NEED an actual plan to follow that shows eat this for this meal you know for some reason it seems that my body won't respond to just working out....I mean I've been working out with my Total Gym now for about 6 days (roughly two weeks) and haven't seen many results....

Should I amp up my workout to a 4 or 5 day a week routine instead of just 3 days?

i used to do it allot with gf

it is an great workout, u really feel it the next day

need to start over myself

tnx for reminding ;)

aeroth- Yes it gives you a nutrition book filled with tons of recipes and 3 different approaches to your eating habits as well as 3 different recipes for each dish to suit your daily caloric needs

The reason i went with p90x is that my wifey would do it with me which is bonus cause when she feels good i get laid more. The other is that i have been a gym rat, have my own home gym and became stagnent in my workouts and plateaud' a long time ago. I want more functional strength as i get older and if i was to keep adding bulk and muscle that would all go to hell in a handbasket later on down the road. If you want to change your diet for accelerated fat loss, drop all your carbs except for about 1 to 2 servings per day, eat 6 small meal portions and have at least 2 of them be either a smoothie or protein shake.

np for the reminder and as tony says and i want to throw shit at him every time he does "bring it"

What's a good price range on this system (with pull up/resistance cables included)

I'm looking at it right now and most reviews have been great. If it comes with a nutritional guide TOO then that makes it a big plus...and hour a day for how many days a week?

Is it more of a muscle building routine or weight loss?

aeroth
I can be either depending on how you go about it. The manual that comes with it give you several routines that you can follow in order to reach your goals (ie size, or p90x lean). It gives you everything you need to know and really does a good job laying everything out for you day by day. The whole system is set up to last 90 days in 3 different phases.

Price wise. I got mine (p90x system) with their pull up bar from beach body I believe right at 150. I went ahead and got a pull up/dip combo mainly because I couldnt drill holes in my new place. Let me know what you find.

Just a heads up, you will more than likely want to get a buddy or lady to train with you. Someone that will push you when you dont want to push yourself.

Seek

Tony is hell on your nerves. I think hes got something going on with Shauna..ha! Ab Ripper X gets easier. If you have to start your reps @ 15 and go up 1 everytime you do it. You will be at 25 before phase 2. Wait till you do core synergistics. Hows plyos working out for you? Keep pushin....oh yeah, BRING IT!!

I found it on Amazon for 215 or so it's the "full" system...which includes the DVDs the pull up bar and resistance cables....are those even needed?

I would say 215 is a good price. You only need the bands if you dont have any free weights or cant do any pull-ups. However the bands to provide a way for you to change things up every once and while. I personally dont use the bands. You can do assisted pull ups if you have to using a chair if pull ups cant be done...just FYI.

The way the program works is you go to your tolerance. Just because you cant do everything that they do on the dvds doesnt mean you wont get there. This is where you have to push yourself but you have to listen to you body (no injuries, just like Penis Enlargement). You also keep track of everything you do, the amount of weight, reps, and what not. You goal is to try and beat your numbers (ie I started out being able to do 23 max push ups, now I can pop out 45). Sometimes you wont beat your numbers though and those days you just have to get as close as you can. You will beat your old numbers with time. Hope this helps.

PS you could get just regular P90 and then work to P90X but I could just go ahead and get the P90X, cause it should be the only workout you will need.

Hey Seek

I have been changing a couple of workouts from phase 1. Try doing tri's and back together (makes pull ups a lot easier do, you can do more reps) and chest and bi's together. Just throwing that out there for you.

yeah I saw the p90 routine on their website...so bands are to replace free weights? What all do you need the free weights for....I guess I'll research the programs a bit more and see which is best for me. the p90 isn't as expensive either. But if I do the p90 then I want to progress to the p90x...so like you said just start with the p90x and you don't have to worry since it'll be the only routine I need....hrm....I don't know I do know though that I like the websites information and the 90 day money back guarantee!!!

Knight;

All i can say about Core Synergistics is holy friggin crap what a workout. That beat the living hell out of my core. I had issues even walking later that night i worked so hard. the ab ripper is outstanding though ;) I keep at 15 most of the time before my hip flexors crap themselves for the most part(Crunchy Frog must die)

Aeroth;

If you get it you will dig it. Like Knight said it is like Penis Enlargement. Find your pace, work till you are at your peak and a little past but don't slip past that magic spot and fall into injury. If you can keep up with the video you are really in shape. I have friends who are still gym rats that tried the chest and back workout with me and were whimpering when we started the second set. Bands will make it interesting but i have always preferred free weights unless i am doing lig and tendon exercises on my arm then i prefer to mix bands in.

Crunchy frog and Phifier scissors (my least favorite) I mean damn! Glad to here things are going well. Core Synergistics suck, but Yoga now there is a challenge. Keep working at it and keep us posted on how its going.

Ive dropped 8lbs thus far at the end of my fourth week. Going to start the cardio in the morning and do the doubles routine cause i got a 5k run coming up in 3 weeks. Honestly i have not felt this good in a long time. I am not tired anymore, I sleep all the way through the night. My body is becoming responsive again and my mind/muscle and breathing are better than they ever have been while i am working out.

Hey I just got P90x of a bit torrent site, the whole program absolutely free. I have a pull up bar as well as dumbell and will be giving the program a go. Ive decided to up the caloric intake as compared to the diet plan that is given becuase of the simple fact I want to gain weight not be ripped. I am a fairly in shape person and have decided to join the Army so hopefully this will help me get ready for all the body weight excercises done in the military.
Are any of you guys still using the program?
