I've been trying to increase my height for year and i've read all kind of books/artcicle/etc about growing taller,i was obbsesd with this idea for a whie.Let me tell you what i've learn :
There are two ways of getting taller :
1)Growing by stretching ( you skeleton does not increase size,but you can stretch your spine/legs/neck and make them as straight as possible,improving your posture and giving you up to two inches of height , depending on a lot of things of course :i have gained a bit over an inch doing this posture improving exercises.
2)Actually growing taller,like kids do ,when you skeleton will get taller.The average male will stop growing completely in his early 20's , some will stop earlier.
1)Growing by stretching
Most people ( men and women ) and shorter than they're full height.Why?Because most of them have incorrect posture,they have an arched back,they do not sleep or sit in a chair following the correct posture.Most poeple are 1-2 inches shorter than they're height.If you're 5'5,your full height could be 5'6-5'7 if you improve your posture.

How to sleep and improve your posture in the same time
Most people sleep with big pillow.That's very unhealthy for the neck and for the spine.Some of them will get neck and back pain for this very reason.When you sleep with a pillow your neck and spine are curved in a very unnatural position.Sleeping with a pillow will results in a very ugly position,without even realising it we will walk like this :

The best way to sleep is to sleep on your back without any pills ( or if you cannot sleep without a pillow,sleep with a small one ).This way your spine and neck will stay straight in a natural position and you will keep this posture when you're awake too.

It will be hard to sleep without a pillow for the first few days,but after a maximum of one week you will have no problem sleeping like this and your spine and neck will thank you.
How to sit and improve posture in the same time
Same thing as the sleeping problem.People have very bad posture and this will lead to height shrinking and back problems.

Improve posture with exercises
Those exercises will improve your posture making your spine straight without any curvature that can lead to bad posture.

Those exercises should be done before going to sleep and after waking up,this is the best time to do them.If you cannot do them two times a day,do them at night.
Do not do all of them,pick 4-5 exercises and perform them for 1-2 weeks,after that,remove those 4-5 exercises and add other 4-5.And so on.I have gained over an inch doing those,i was 5'6 and in 1 month i went to 5'7 1/2 .
If you do not believe those exercises work : Have you seen that old people are shorter than when they were young?Why is that?They're height shrinked?Of course not...the skeleton cannot shrink.But you posture can.If you notice most old people have very bad posture and they walk with a arched back.If you put an old person to do those exercises,they will grow 2-3 inches in a month.Same thing could happen with young people too.If you do not take care of your posture you can shrink.
Growing taller naturaly ( increase the skeleton size )
This won't work unless you're young.I would say if you're in your early 20's you could still have hope.If not,sorry buddy.Stick to posture increasing exericses and you might get some extra height.
What you have to do to increase your height naturally?
-Eat healthy ! Very important thing.If you cannot give your body healthy resources your body won't grow at its maximum potential.Simple as that.
-A lot of water
