I am posting this because I am at a loss for ideas. I have to write a paper discussing whether the media is responsible for any negative aspect of American Culture.

I know there are many unique and colorful individuals on here with clever ideas I am sure of it. Please help me out with any suggestions, ideas.

Oh man I can come up with a ton of shit, let me get back to you on this, I love how the media puts shit out there everyday to try to scare the public into being nothing but fuckin sheep following the pack. You tube can give you some real good ideas if you can find the right subject.

Look at the commercials on t.v., how they depict men--as bumbling, single-minded jerks. Look at the way t.v. runs all the high fat, carb food commercials on late at night, then follows them up with a weight-loss program/pill or exercise apparatus commercial to lose weight. Is that not neurotic and negative?

They portray the ideal woman as anorexic. The models look like they were just released from a concentration camp. Is that not sick?

Look how they use sex to sell cars, beer, you name it.

I would focus on the t.v. commercials and the images they portray. You have more than enough false, misleading messages/images to write a paper or two.

One of my biggest pet peeves (no pun intended) is about dogs. Almost every dog attack, the media names the dog a pit bull before any investagation is complete. Then you see a picture of the dog that is described as a pit bull, but looks nothing like an american pit bull terrier.

Now days laws are being made based on emotion and not logic. I blame this on how pussifiyed the average american male has become, due to feminisim. America is not as extreme as Nazi Germany, but it is getting there. The police police themselves, how can police misconduct be addressed if the police govern themselves? Yes exactly. I was thinking along the lines of those Male Enhancement commercials...Enzyte. They are getting sued by the way. Advertisements about male enhancment is a very touchy subject. I would say maybe 4 out of 5 men think about their penis size not measuring up. Which comes mostly from social conditioning...bigger is better...size matters...all that shit. What you guys think if I wrote it on the phenomenon on penis size. Dont get me wrong anybody I am a proud Penis Enlargement'er. My target is going to be those penis pills companies that scam you off.

I really dont know where it came from but I believe it came from American culture. Women trying to attack men. Size does really matter, but only if your hung like a baby carrot or a rolling pin. I believe it was another attempt by fiminist to help break down the confident american man. Just my opinion.

It applies to women as well, though, for example, bigger tits, bigger ass. I know a guy whose wife got breast implants. So he decided to do penis enlargement since she had undergone surgery for bigger breasts. She agreed to it, by the way. Thank God he decided to do it the natural way. I wouldn't let a surgeon touch my pecker, nooooo way.

You'd probably have an easier time writing a paper on 11X7's suggestions about negative self-image and body obsession, particularly among women. I'm sure the penis size thing seems more interesting and appealing, but you have to look at it from a research perspective - there's an abundance or studies and writing covering the negative body associations created my modern media and advertising, particuarly for women. You're not going to find much academically valid material about the 'bigger is better' issue, which, in all honesty, your professor isn't likely to consider to be the sort of societally damaging issue they probably had in mind when they assigned the paper. Go with something more established, general and supportable -- when you pick something obscure and non-essential in terms of its impact on society, like penis size, you're just making it harder on yourself.
