In light of all the opinions on how clean pornstars are:

Darren James has just tested positive for HIV. He apparently contracted it in Brazil on March 10th. He tested negative on March 17th ( after being positive) and worked with several girls since then. This includes at least 30 performers or so. All these people are under voluntary quarantine.

And getting tested regularly is not going to prevent the contraction or spread of HIV, especially if you ever have sex with someone who has not been tested - recently or had sex with someone who had sex with someone who was not tested,etc. Since there is a 75% rate after 30 days and 99.5% after 60days, you can have an HIV test every month and you could still have it and not know for upto 2 months.

This is also scary considering the company thats runs adult entertainment HIV testing previously allowed Mark Wallice to suBathmateit forged testing documents and allowed him to keep working and infect others when he had HIV.

other actors were infected. Before that, a male actor infected five women in 1998.

A nonprofit health group was trying to identify performers who had sex with the two HIV-infected actors as well as a
''second generation'' who slept with their movie sex partners. Dr. Jonathan Fielding, director of public health and health
officer for Los Angeles County, said the agency did not consider the HIV case a threat to public health ''at this point.''

''I think in general, they've done an appropriate job in terms of the quarantine measures taken,'' he said.

Sharon Mitchell of the nonprofit Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation said the male performer apparently contracted
HIV last month while filming in Brazil. He tested positive for HIV on Friday and a follow-up test on Monday confirmed it.

It was unclear how much impact the work stoppage would have on the $4 billion to $13 billion-a-year industry, which is

production, arguing that they already have safety measures in place. However, Adult Video News late Thursday posted a

This is because the days of simply graduating high school, marrying your sweetheart, and working in the factory or farm your father and grandfather worked are gone.

I don't see an alternative. You might convince people to hold-off from having sex until they're 18 or 20, but these days we have singles running around 25-30 and even older. The message is just not going to sell at that point. You'll not even find a doctor or psychologist that wouldn't even pretend that such a thing is healthy.

We've got higher divorce rates, juvenile delinquents out of control, an epidemic of unsupervised children without two parents in the home, etc. I'm not saying that there is never a case for divorce and I'm not saying that single mothers never do an adequate job of raising a child, but these are clear disadvantages under normal circumstances.

My parents got married when my dad was 21 and my mom was 17 (she was not pregnant). I never heard my parents fight anything like so many of today's couples, though they had normal disagreements. When my four sisters and I would step out of line, he would take the belt to our asses and we've all turned out to be decent, productive individuals. Compare that to today's parents.

Also, the promotion of the whole "adolescent" period of life is a relatively modern idea that is worthless in the grand scheme of things. Back in the old days, 18-20 year olds actually WERE mature enough to marry, because they acted more like adults, since they didn't have "expert" psychologists promoting an entire period of life devoted to immaturity. In the old days, kids were phased into adult responsibilities at a younger age.

Don't get me wrong. I'd rather be doing what I'm doing today than working in the steel mill like my old man and caring for a handful of kids, just to relive the days of old. I'm glad I went to college and shit, but when you compare the family structure today versus yesterday, we've taken huge steps backwards.

It's not fair to say that all adult entertainment stars or strippers have mental issues.
