In my progress log, I mentioned that I'd be making a demo thread of the CAT II RO that I just got. I've used several homemade FR devices, which are definitely cheaper to make. But this is far better than any of them, and the best part for me is that you don't need any tape. The tape was causing a lot of pain for me, to the point that I accidentally pulled some skin off last week. If that was what FR had to be like for me, I wasn't going to do it.
I haven't used the [words=http://TLCTugger.com/MOS]TLC[/words] or any of that line of products, and I've never used any other commercially available product, so I can't make any comparisons, but if anyone here is looking to get a more efficient FR device than whatever homebrew they're currently using, I'd recommend this without reservation. Anyway, getting to the important stuff...
In the first pic I've labeled the parts of the device. I don't think these are the "official" terms for them, but they're how I think of them. The shank is a hollow plastic screw that you can urinate through if you get it with the hole drilled in the plunger. I've had to cover the hole in the plunger with a piece of tape because my glans tends to get too bunched up inside, cutting off circulation to a small portion of the glans. This scared the crap out of me when I removed the device for the first time and had a 'nipple' of white, dead-looking flesh at the tip of my glans. This may just be because I'm using too much pressure and don't realize it. I had trouble urinating through it anyway, so now I just take it off when I go to the bathroom. It doesn't even take 30 seconds to put on, so no big deal.
The second pic shows how to set it up before applying it. Make sure the plunger is nearly flush with the bell and the cone and washer are at the other end.
In pics 3 and 4 you see how to begin putting it on. Put the glans in the plunger, then push your glans in and pull the foreskin forward over the bell. I like to make sure I have equal amounts of inner and outer foreskin there so it doesn't grow evenly, so this takes a few seconds to adjust.
After this, you pull the cone down, trapping the foreskin between the cone and the bell (pic 5). Then you tighten the device by twisting the shank. This pushes the plunger (and your glans) down so there's more of a stretch in the outer foreskin, and since the foreskin is held tightly between the bell and the cone, the inner foreskin is being stretched by the bell pressing from the inside. I hope that made sense, because it's hard to describe the mechanics of it, and I can't exactly take a pic of what's happening.
Now you pull the rubber washer down to hold the cone in place so the device doesn't accidentally come off (pic 6).
You can see that there is a white rubber cap at the end of the shank. If you urinate through the device, you remove this cap. You can also replace it with a "tugger" attachment, which you can see in pic 7. You can hang a bit of weight to get more of a stretch in your foreskin.
Well I hope all this made sense. Happy restoring!
