I don't think anyone has really organized scientific studies to learn about PE. I propose an idea that we can answer some of the most common questions. The first one I'd like to work on is the "warm up/cool down" debate. I need a group of 30 volunteers who can put in the same amount of work into PE. They will go on the same routine while being split into 3 groups: 1 uses heat as their warm up and cool down, 2 uses cold for their warm up and cool down, then the all important group 3 is the one that uses neither. Every participant will log every thing they do for a month and we will compare results from there. If not enough change occurs, it would be made into a 3 month study. This way we get pretty definitive answers. From there were could work on things like amount of rest days, how hard should you pull, the volume of routines, and all that. We could really get this down to a science if we all work together as a dedicated group.
