Well I did it. After years of wondering what the big deal was, I broke down and drunk with my wife just to see what it was like. Heres how it went....
Night 1
I didnt want to get to out of it cause i didnt know how my body would handle drinking so I got a 4 pack of wine coolers at 3.5% alcohol. Cant remember the brand but it was strawberry flavored. It tasted like a strong cherry coke. My wife and I drank 1 each at the same time. She got a bit light headed and stopped. I continued and drank 2 more in about 20 minutes time for a total of 3. I started feeling just slightly off balance, but just barely. I noticed I felt slightly tired also. I tried to stay calm and not play it up or fake anything because I wanted it to be real. I stopped here without being impressed.
Night 2
This was the very next night. I bought something a bit stronger this time as I wanted to really feel more just to see what was so great about drinking. Again I dont remember exactly what I bought other than this time it was very clear like water and tasted like a strong sprite. This was 5% alcohol with 6 in the case. Me and the wife drank 2 each pretty quick. She stopped after that, I continued. I wound up drinking 4 of these. This time it was the same feelings as last only more of it. I felt pretty dizzy and slow. I stayed calm once again as not to exagerate things. My wife even said I seemed alot calmer than usual. But I also felt very tired. I felt just like I did as a teenager when I would stay up 65-75 hours on purpose just to see if I could. It was almost miserable to feel this way. My eyes also dilated about twice their normal size. I couldnt focus as fast I normally could.
My thoughts.....
Well both nights the drinks did taste good which was a suprise to me. It was also suprising to me that they both tasted very close to soda drinks. It also suprised me that even though I was slow and dizzy, I still could think just as clear as normal, its just my body was acting different, it didnt really bother my thought process. But I did have to concentrate hard to get my body to simply walk without falling over. I almost bought some very strong whiskey or JD but really didnt care to feel worse than I did the last night. I just honestly dont see the point in drinking even for a buzz. Its misery, and expensive. I dont understand how making my body feel like Ive been up for 3 days is fun. I do alot better and have a better time without it. I dont see the appeal. Do people drink just to laugh at others who are drunk also? Thats all I can think. I wasnt impressed with it. Anyway now I know....
