Hey guys do u prefer to shave or trim downstairs? But if u shave you can get ingrown hairs and all that, right? Please state what you prefer to do, thanks guy :)

Trim cause the thought of putting a razor down there is too much for me.

Shaving for me, been doing that since teenage. I trim the upper part, but balls and cock, shave definitely. Although I'm an advocate for double edge razors and even straights, I still find the Mach 3 to be excellent for shaving your body hair, especially down under. Haven't had cuts or nicks in years, a blade matters though! I've used some lower end blades which didn't cut at all.
Ingrown hairs might happen, but it's about getting used to the shaving and keeping your skin exfoliated / good condition. I have a nice shower brush that kindly exfoliates, so I haven't seen ingrown hairs in a while.

Start with trimming, that's my advice. If you choose to shave, spend some time and relax. Lather up and let the blade do the work, don't use too much tension.

Ive grown my hair since i was 13 now i have dread locks down there. Really i shave. Electric shaver is safe for me.

Every six months, or so, when this question re-emerges, I always answer the same thing:
Real man shave w/a propane torch.

Axe and Norelco just teamed up to turn out a "new" BodyGroomer. It looks the same as every other "bodygroomer" out there but it's only like 35 bucks at discount stores (Wal-Mart, Target and such). I might pick one up to try and if I do I'll report back on it.

Been shaving down there since I was 12 and have only gotten 2 ingrown hairs over the past eight years. As long as you apply a generous amount of soap (I use dove body wash), and use a good razor (Gillette fusion pro glide), you shouldn't have any problems. I do like to trim sometimes, but usually keep the sides fully shaved (pornstar trim).

Use a depilatory cream ,no razor and can be done in 5 minutes

Burnt myself with this stuff!

I don't suggest depilatory cream for your private parts. Nasty stuff and as DLD stated, you can burn yourself with that stuff! I've tried some depilatory creams on my body and they've all been a let down. My shaving is done in 1 -2 minutes. I don't want to let some damn cream sit on my body and then try, ohh, it hasn't worked yet, let's wait more. Useless gunk in my opinion.

Shaving, fastest and easiest. Plucking, takes a lot of time, a bit more lasting results. Waxing could be one option, but it's pretty harsh on the skin my opinion. Sugaring might be slightly better option compared to waxing.

Thank you for that validation!

I shave off all the hair completely. I got ingrown hair before but I've since leanrt to shave the pubic hair according to where they are facing. If the hairs are facing upward, I shave upward. If you shave like this, you will not encounter ingrown hair.

Shaving every day is the key to less discomfort when shaving with a razor. I use hair conditioner, instead of shaving cream. I learned that from doublelongdaddy (@DLD). A priceless lesson.
I soften up the area beforehand with warm water in the shower. It's important to have clean and sharp blades on your Cartridge Razor. I also use a razor that's intended for ladies (It's called: Venus), I find them better to follow the skin without cuts.

If you first clean the blades after usage with high pressure water and then, if you spray the blade/blades with Isopropanol (you find it in electronic stores) after usage, the blades will last longer. They are not exactly cheap blades.

I shave my "fat pad", and my shaft. The hairs around my scrotum and inner thighs I leave behind, because they help me to reduce the friction when I walk and run.

I shave for 3 reasons, every day
The first reason is to be able to stretch with the LENGTHMASTER 3, without the stubbels acting like sand paper on my skin.
The second reason is due to get rid of the hairs on my shaft, because when you are gaining length, you will have really thick hairs creeping up on your shaft (growing out of your shaft really high up).
The third reason is so the skin will be adjusted to be shaved every day. If I let it grow for a couple of days, it will be uncomfortable to shave and it will be more irritation.

That's what I'm doing.
