Cheap "Study Aid" drugs?

I'm looking for something that might have the effect of taking a Ritalin or Adderall, but hopefully cheaper. Maybe there's a generic form out there somewhere? Does anyone know, or maybe if you know something that would have a similar effect? I have a LOT of music I have to write between now and the end of the semester, and I've been having a hard time making myself focus on it for so long at a time. By music I don't mean just words and a guitar part...one piece is a full jazz arrangement, one is for a quartet, harp and voice, plus a few others...you get the idea.

I found this one pill called Focus Factor. It looked kinda nice because it isn't amphetamines, but it's also $40 per 15 day supply. Any other suggestions? Something that doesn't require a prescription would be good, or something I can get from a site that doesn't require it.

I saw an ad on TV for Focus Factor, they have a promotion where they give you a 30 day supple to try for free, so you could get it free and it would take you right till about the end of the semester.

Hmm...I might give that a try. The last time I did a free 30 day sample though, I cancelled my subscription and they still sent me another months supply, and charged me $60. But of course, it was a Penis Enlargement pill. :D

Edit: Uhh...nevermind. Looks like they're doing the same thing.

The best study aid in the world is time management. But that's not what you wanted to hear, right? =)

Well I checked out the Focus Factor website. Any pill like this you are looking for is going to take at least a month or two before you have noticable effects. You'll be unwrapping Christmas presents by that time. Find someone with an Adderall prescription and only use it when you have the time to sit down and get some work done. I've seen too many people take it and fuck around all night when they could've been working.

bump

I'm in the market again. Anybody here have some Adderall or Ritalin I could buy? Send me a PM.

I use this stuff when I REALLY need to focus. It works like crazy when I take 4 and lasts for about 4 to 6 hours. I have a mild case of ADD, and it can get out of hand if I don't watch out. This helps keep me on track and thinking fast. It supposedly helps with workouts, too. I buy it from bodybuilding.com.

Brainquicken / Bodyquicken sucks
Focus factor sucks

Both are way over priced for what they have in them. The beneficial ingredients in them are horribly underdosed for what is effective.

If you are looking for a product that will get you results, you will not be dissapointed with Neurostim. It comes with or without caffeine if you need the wake up factor. I used the caffinated version, i think it runs about $30 for a tub

If you want to get focused on the cheap find some ALCAR bulk powder, it works well too for most people find it here here

I just started a regimen yesterday.

3 grams of ALCAR

500 mg alpha-GPC, and 1 TBS of Liquid Lechiten (choline source)

1300 mg of Aniracetam

This is split up and taken 3 x a day.

I will let you know how it goes.

9yclops9, philadelph definatly gave you a good regimen. If you want more info. on these products, pricing on them and the like, go to bulknutrtition.com you can find a slew of neuro compounds, including what was mentioned already. Not all of them are cheap, but they do have product reviews and a forum, which should help point you in the right direction.

I'm actually looking into that myself, going back to grad school in the fall and I was diagnosed with ADD,......which I'm o.k. with as long as the classes are some what interesting and don't drag on all day. However, I have to take some long, and boring,(at least to me), pre-req's this summer......O-chem, Physics, etc.

If you find anything that works for you, definatly keep us updated. I know I can't take any persrcipton pills, even the so called non stim's such as stratera. They make me feel like I'm crack, .....I'll have super concentration abilities, but paranoia, extreme sweat, extreme dry mouth, and really worn out when the pill wears off.......I also build an immunity to them rather quickly.

Stims also arne't the best thing for your heart if you end up and start depending on them more than you origonally had,......more frequent usage. For me, stims also messed up how I had to schedule things during my day. I had to wait for the pill to wear off to work out, do cardio, or basically go anywhere besides class b/c I was bugging out so bad, and my heart was going through my chest.

Yes I have some slight ADD as well, and am prescribed to dexidrine, which is basically amphetamine. I don't use the dex everyday, because I know it could be unhealthy to be on it everyday. That's why I am hoping this stack will be something useful to take everyday.

For sure, you should look into some ALCAR. You will feel the benefits of the ALCAR almost immediatly. If you want to step it up a notch you could throw in some l-tyrosine.

I'll give it a try for the mother load of prereq's I have to take for grad school this summer. I wasn't particularly fond of feeling like a crackhead all summer.....the advice is much appreciated philadelph.

The AlCAR/Aniracetam/Choline combo has been doing me some good. I feel less mental fatigue. I also feel that I think slightly differently, in a good way, but hard to put into words. I also find myself dreaming and remembering details from my childhood vividly. Strange stuff. It seems to have maybe opened up some old memory storage.

You have to find your sweet spot with the aniracetam. I am taking around 1700 mg a day. 3 grams of ALCAR per day. Choline somewhere around 2 grams, coming from various sources.

There are other "racetams" that I want to try out.

I love Brainquicken and it works wonders for me, but you say it sucks. Have you tried it? For something strictly for mental focus, which I desperately need, what do you suggest?

A friend of mine recommended this combination of supplements awhile back so I tried it out:

1000 mg Choline
500 mg Vitamin B5 aka Pantothenic Acid

I've tried it a few times before big tests and stuff, and it works like a charm. BTW, I have ADD also. I can't remember how much these supplements cost though. Hope that helps.

ginko biloba and especially vinpocetine are the two main mental herbs aside from the obvious caffeine (in small amounts).
