the key to a big bench is triceps.get some 2/6 boards.stack three together and bench with that.your tris will explode.pluss go to squat rack, place flat bench in it.set pins were you will only push 7 to 8 inch,go heavy as hell.I hold a world record in bench.578 at 220 bw.25 years old.arching your back is a good thing.

elitefitness/systems.com this has all the bench press info you will ever need

Arching your back is a technique used by powerlifters to decrease the ROM,as long as your butt and shoulder blades remain on the bench then it isn't cheating.

I would do board presses bro but im in college and they dont got that shit. as for the partials those are great and all for my tris and shit, but they wont help when i can get the weight off my chest....its all about sticking points for me

I see a lot of people loose their max or heavy lifts in their initial moments after unracking the weight. They hesitate in the desent holding the weight at an extended position for too long and then basically doing a negitive rep on the way down.
Im not saying desend w/o control or to bounce the weight off your chest, just get the lift underway asap.

How exactly do you do partials, do you bring the bar down only like 6'' or do you bring it up 6''.

my trainer always had me keep my shoulders pinched in, my ass tight, and my back slightly arched....you can use a block on your chest (have a partner hold it) thats like 6 inches high and bench with that for small gains....and stuff ect ect

Oh so put somthing on my chest thats like 6'' and bring the bar down on top of that and thats a partial.(i know i dont have to leave to leave th 6'' watever on my chest tho).
