I guess I'll weigh in. I go to a school with 40% of its population as foreign students. Maybe a third of the foreign students are Japanese. I hear them make comments all the time such as "crazy Japs" or whatever. They aren't offended in the least when other people use that word. Now obviously "yellow Japs" or "filthy Japs" or whatever is offensive, but I've never seen any of them get offended by the word itself, it's all in context. It's not the same as saying "nigger," "mick," or "kike." Not by a long shot.

The reason I showed the vid is because the forum is called "Crazy Videos". I thought is was funny as hell...I still would have posted it even if it werent japanese people. The concept is just funny. I agree to drop the comments about the word "jap" and continue the comments about the vid.

this thing about race or whatever is stupid pull off everyones skin and we are all red muscle and blood

the reason jap is offensive to some is because it's was previosly used as a diagortry comment, the word jap would be used to shit on the japanese because of the war, fucking japs/those dirty japs etc. these comments would put the word in a offensive light. meaning today some people still see the word japs as offensive or in a offensive manner

the same with niger (i don't know what it means not being american but it's racists) the word niger probably wasn't a bad word but because it was used in a diagortry manner it made it bad

same thing with paki

the reasons aussie or aussies isn't diagortry is because it's always been used in an endearing manner same with scots and brits

back in the day in australia all the italians and greeks were called wogs (worldly oriental gentlemen) not a bad word but because some anglos-suxan australias would say "dirty wog" or "hiary wog" it made the word bad. it's not any more all us italians call ourselfs wogs and if someone called me a "dirty wog" i would laugh and say thanks you dirty white bitch or something stupid like that i wouldn't take it in a bad light at all
