Length complimenting Girth

I've been pe'ing for about 2 years now and I've made an observation about girth and length work. I reached my length goal about 6 months ago so I really wanted to work the girth hard and I pretty much quit doing length exercises. Well guess what...I was barely gaining anything girth wise and getting very frustrated. So I decided to add length work in again... and wouldn't you know it my girth was starting to come along as i worked length. I'm not sure I understand this but I think working on length, even if your not trying to gain a whole lot, keeps the tunica and blood vessels pliable for girth gains. Has anyone else noticed this?

I'm new so I don't know. however I've noticed there are two kinds of people, some who say it's better to focus on one area for max gains, and the other group says if you do both, but focusing mainly on one, the other will eventually come too.

my assumption is it's different for everyone.
 
Whether I was mainly jelqing or stretching, girth and lengths gains seemed to come simultaneously, especially during my first six months of P.E. But I'm convinced we all have a natural tendency to gain more one way than the other.
