I am thinking of starting pumping, however i was wondering, using a normal exercise routine or pumping for that matter does girth come as easily as length (assuming you are not concentrating specifically on either)? Are they in 1:1 or does more of one tend to come?

I ask mainly because my entire goal is to gain 1.5 inches in length, however if i gained 1.5 inches in girth this will mean i need a large cylinder, so if that is the case i would wait till my length is longer to start pumping. Also is pumping good at length?

I know this is partially about pumping but its not entirely and you get more response in this forum than the pumpers.
 
Unless you're packing the sides of the cylinder, pumping will increase girth a lot more than length. However, the gains will be mostly temporary. Pumping for length requires a narrower cylinder so that the vacuum is focused on the glans instead of the sides.

If you primary goal is to increase length, then you would probably get faster results from hanging.
