Very different comparison. With an athletic workout concentration would be on muscle growth, and retaining a muscle pump is simply not a reality, nor would it do much to help build muscle. Using a cock ring is very different as we are not attempting to effect muscle but we are looking to stretch the tunica and cause great expansion and than hold that expansion for as long as possible via the cock ring. I feel like you're forgetting about compression wear, which is designed to maintain a slightly increased blood flow differential (more in than out) to the compressed body part(s) so that the muscles can heal in a state of increased oxygenation.
