How a Positive Stereotype can be BAD.

This topic has been discussed many times here at [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]MoS[/words] and also on other PE forums but I just heard it on a podcast about 30 min ago AND it came up while talking to my woman a couple of days ago. I listen to the Joe Rogan podcast almost daily and every now and then he brings up the all black guys have big dicks thing and most of the time it's just funny but today he was talking to Joey Diaz about how he thinks that is a positive stereotype and that no black guy really complains about it...

It angers me to hear people say this about that stupid fking stereotype. It haunted me so much when I was younger being a black man myself. Isn't that crazy? A positive stereotype like that scared the fuck out of me and made me feel like shit and insecure. Someone pulling down your pants expecting one thing and getting something else. God damnit that stereotype pisses me off so much. I guess you could argue that my starting stats are larger than average... but I'm telling you right now, at the height and weight that I am my hands could hide my entire erect penis so it was like holding a pencil. I'm just had to vent that out. I know this is the same topic that gets beaten like a dead horse. 😣 Just living on that shadow made me keep my pants on until I was almost 20 and passed up opportunities with women to the point where they started questioning my sexuality.

Btw I don't post very often anymore but I still creep on you guys 🤗. I've made gains being consistent over the past year but I'm being stubborn and not editing my signature yet 😁

Yeah I hate that stereotype, even though I’m starting out at 7.5x5.2 I feel like women are expecting a 9x6.5 just because of the stereotype.

I'm going to get that 9 inches length and 7 inches girth.

It truly is a conundrum! While there is certain positivity to the stereotype, you Egghead, wrote very clearly that it can work against black men. Several studies have found black men to be hung more prominently, but in the end we're more or less individuals.

I am hoping that this vent and time has made you more open and that you're able to conquer many women if you so wish!

And it is good that you creep around. ;-) I raise my glass for you to get to your goals!

Just a quick sum up; Stereotypes, positive or negative, are often "wrong" way to look at the world. Certain stereotypes can be a survival mechanism in this world, that is to my understanding why there are stereotypes; to save time.

Yea, I hear ya. Back in the day when I was younger and single/dating I recall having a girl say "damn, are you part BLACK?". I hope we can all move past stereotypes in general as a species one day and just learn to appreciate each other for being fellow humans.

All of these racial biases aren't going away anytime soon, so it's best we maintain our focus and dispel each stereotype on an individual level. I can only imagine how a smaller than average black man feels in society today...truly unfair (but I've experienced almost unilaterally the perpetuation of The Black Myth within The AA Community, so...)

Myths never go away, that is why they are myths. A myth does not denote a truth though, it simply gives a story that has been passed down for a long time.

But myths also do derive from archetypes deeply rooted within our psyche. For example the myth of the dragonslayer. A mighty warrior who slays a serpent or dragon in order to win the heart of a woman or to understand the sounds of nature. This talks about how humans are able to transcend to higher states of consciousness by destroying illusionary self identifications.

By the way it is interesting how this dragonslayer myth is related to sex: The energy which sleeps in our root chakra is supposed to be awakened so that it goes up our spine to reach the head. This energy is a dragon in a sense. Also the penis is easily related to a snake. With a little bit of fantasy these things start to make some sense. However our modern perception of the world is very mental so it is not easy to understand these things. Others say that the myths are supposed to bypass the mental faculties so that they will be sucked up by a deeper intelligence within us - they achieve that best if the mind doesn't understand them so it can't filter.

I still would say that, on average, black people are more connected to their body whereas white people are more connected to their mind. If you are connected more to the body then the energy lies more in the root chakra and it would make sense to be better equipped.

interesting take on mythology and how logic/science can take us further from the sub-conscious

Stereotypes may be why you don't see a lot of Asian men with white and black women. The assumption is that they're all small.

Many people also believe that body size indicates penis size. I'm sure that's hurt me before as I'm 5'6" and women have thought the taller guy would have a larger penis for a good 1 night stand.

Stereotypes and prejudices will always exist at least in our lifetimes. I try very hard not to judge people by their looks but it still happens and we all do it. We need to teach our children to not judge and hope they teach their children too. We could eliminate all of it within the next 2 generations that way.

Maybe to some extent the myth might no longer affect those of us on [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]MOS[/words] because we know the truth.

It all starts with the parents. If you do the right thing and set a stellar example for your child they will follow. My Son was taught to work everyday, never take a hand out, bust your ass and make a life for yourself. Today He is 23 with 2 kids 2 houses and 2 cars. He runs His own printing company and is the best Fathers I have even known. His children will b brought up the same way. Fuck the schools, all of my children were and will be homeschooled. I do not trust society and the teachers of these awful schools teaching children fucked up values, No, I will not risk it. My Son did just fine so will my Grandsons.

A circular wall. Put all the dems wasting taxpayers money on a failed witch hunt in (Mueller first) and flood it. At this point I'm more pissed about the waste of money than if they even find anything.

I know a few people in my country who refused to allow their children go to school but instead schooled them at home. We learn so many negative things in school, I can attest to that fact.

There's a few negatives to home schooling. The first is lack of socialization. That includes being exposed to different people and realizing how others can think very opposite of you yet still be right.

Second is that your kids will never learn more than you know. Teachers have to learn how to teach a modern curriculum. As you advance, at least in the US, each teacher focuses on only 1 or 2 subjects. It makes them better at teaching that 1 thing, or at least that's the rationale behind the method. When kids ask things that aren't in the book are you going to know the answer?

Home schooling can be good if done right but I'm in favor of better public education. It exposes you to more.

Yes I get your point, I know majority of people including myself will choose public school but it has too many disadvantages. I learnt too many bad things in school. The only thing I don't like about home training is the possibility of the child not knowing more than the parent and also the child's unwillingness to agree to others point of view. But home training with good internet access might work too.

Thank God I am a genius😇
Social issues are easily dealt with by after school activities, clubs and groups. I always hosted weekend sleepovers for all of my Sons friends. You do need to be smart to homeschool a child and you also need to be creative with the social aspect. Not all parents of the time, smarts, patience or the structure to create a good homeschool environment.

It can work if done right but most people don't do it correctly. A guy at work has 2 teenagers that are homeschooled. Considering the school district we live in those kids are probably getting just as good if not better education at home. Given his very strong religious values I'm sure his kids are getting socialization through church activities.

Some people home school to cut off from society and that will hurt the kids more than protect them.

Too much church activity might not be good for a child who was home schooled.

I also home church them :) I do not trust religion, I only trust the Word of God (The Bible) If it ain't in the Bible it ain't in my belief system. So their education included school and God.

Like anything it has to be done right. If they're taught proper morals, values, and that they have choices in life that's fine. If they're being threatened with hell over little things that's borderline abuse.

My Children know the Grace message, they know they are forgiven of all sin, past, present and future. They understand that Jesus died for their sins and they know that Christ lives in them. And I tell them alway "Nothing can snatch you out of the hands of God" The devil is a week and silly thing to create doctrine about. We look to Jesus not to the devil. My children are given the truth from the bible Jesus + Nothing. I do not believe in religion in any way. I am stickily a saved bible believer. If it is not in the Bible, it is not in me. My Children will never be threatened with hell fire bullshit. They know they are saved and already have a place reserved in Heaven.

I'm also a recovering catholic. I thought all Christianity was like Catholicism. Glad I learned differently.

The thing that really got me was years of being raised Catholic and then my 10th grade history class. We learned all about the ending of Roman times and the history of Europe up until about the "discovery" of America. We were learning all this horrible shit the Catholic church did to people. It made me think that the religion was evil and driven by man, not God.

I haven't really read the bible since I found a new belief in God. Haven't gone to church much either. I do remember things I was taught when young though and look at them differently now. I also remember that the Bible was written by men and modified by man. I consider things from it to be a guide because of that. Some good stories and lessons that support the common belief of God.

Religion is terrible in all ways, it takes the beauty of the Bible and makes a mockery of it, especially Catholics. The truth is Gods Word. We are all born with a measure of faith and God reveals Himself to everyone in nature. You do not need to go to no church to get to know your God, He is right there inside of you always! We are saved by Grace, not works. We, who have been saints and no longer sinners but Saints! You are not a dirty worm, you are a beautiful child of God!

I try not to say which religion is right and which is wrong. In the end they all have a different interpretation of the same God and no one knows anything for certain until they die. I'm more than willing to call people out on claims that they "know" what God wants. If they can't accept that they won't know everything until they die then I won't continue the conversation.

Extremists exist everywhere. The actions of a few give the whole a bad reputation. I do my best to avoid being part of the problem.

I should go to church more because it allows me to hear things I may not on my own. It also keeps my mind open to different ideas and concepts. Question everything because it will give you a better understanding of what you're learning.

You are the Church! You don't need to go where you already are :) The Church is the Body of Christ (all saved believers) with Jesus as the Head, not a building. Religion is simply taking Gods word and adding to it, something that is a big no no in Revelations. The Bible is the written word and the Holy Spirit is the spoken word, this is all anyone needs to find the freedom and peace of being one with Christ. Good bible reading that will inspire and will not take long is some of these book. I suggest reading in this order as you can the gospel of John, Hebrews, Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, 1 and 2 John, 1 and 2 Peter, The Acts of the Apostles. This will give you everything you will need to know about how perfect you are in Christ and just why. Please read these books and allow yourself the peace, joy and freedom I have!

I do need to do some reading.

The times I've been to our church I like it. The pastor is a great guy and does teach well. Some people believe you have to go to church to worship God. If that's what you believe chances are in daily life you're missing God

Church is fine if they are teaching the Grace Message. If they are in any way mixing in work with grace, leave that church as it is telling a false message. As far as the reading I suggested, it will give you the knowledge and power to feel the complete freedom of Living with and through Christ.
