That's the part I never understood why would a loving god (and yes, Jesus isn't god) would want you to suppress a basic desire/need (like sex, sleep, food/hunger, thirst/water, ...)

That's the controversial topic. What defines a god. In philosophy it has its standards then there is religions where some view God as an entity of power that punishes. My god isn't one who punishes, my god is just pure love and thats all.

I don't think it is him wanting, god doesn't have desires as we humans do.

Yes, after my girl left a second time, 8 years ago, I decided to dedicate the rest of my life to God and the Brotherhood. My life has never been more blessed!

Exactly. God does not require or even expect this, this is done for me to get closer to Jesus. Understanding what a fast is will make it easier to understand. Lets say you are having issues with feeling bad about yourself and you go to food as a way to deal with it. So fasting in this sense allows me to put more importance on my prayers as a way to deal with my issues, not food. The same would apply to any other thing I may fast of. So for me I fast from food, TV, sex, and this gives me the time I need to dedicate to God, my family and the Brotherhood.

I still have the temptations, I am only a man and a sinner at that. The temptations of sex, food, etc. will never go away, this is the suffering but the victory is in the gifts given due to this dedication.

God did not temp Adam and Eve, God does not temp us, this is the work of Satan. God may test us at times but He will never temp us, this is the work of evil.

Yes DLD, we all have temptations even if we do not want them. There are times where I am very tempted to do things that I know I shouldn't do so I try to find the power in me to say no to these temptations when they are bestowed upon me.

It's part of being human because we're vulnerable to those things. We have to accept that we will fall at times but we can always recover and God will help

Exactly, we will never be without sin nor will we ever be able to be just like Jesus. The whole reason Jesus came here is He needed to fulfill the prophecies of the old law and word through his birth, crucifixion and resurrection. In all these things we are saved if we believe that Christ is the Son of God. God died once for our sins and through this we are given forgiveness. Even Jesus Christ was tempted by satan and prevailed victorious. It is not so much that we need to be perfect because if that were the case we would not need God's forgiveness, no, it is because we are of the flesh and we are weak and give in to sin. But in this we shall have no fears as we know, if we ask forgiveness, it will be granted.

Remember Jesus will never temp you, this is satans work. When feeling tempted denounce it and show conviction towards the treasures promised you by the Father, even Jesus Christ!

Soon my Brother! I know, with all my heart, we are the generation of the 2nd coming of Christ. We will see Jesus Christ and the great fire that comes and in this fire we will dance as the evil burns!
