It's the best by a long-shot, but yes mostly for girth work, but it's still up for debate, they're both viable options alone or used interchangeably.

I like the idea of starting with the cheapie rubber rings until you find the right size for your needs. Then upgrade. Last night i went back to the local adult store and bought an "Alchemy" brand polished, seamless metal ring. It's 1/2" wide and 1.75" diameter. Gives about 1/4" extra girth and a fatter glans when erect. Paid about $25.

For me those adjustable ones have not been great. I do have one and it wasn't the cheapest, but it surely is not to my liking. Usually the adjustable ones will slip and they do not do their function as well as they should.

I guess it depends on how you use it. I've talked about the ring of power before and even considered making my own. I got lazy and bought one for $25 or so on ebay. It comes with magnets in it. Not sure what they do exactly but I figured what the hell..
I've tried using the o-rings before and have had no success with it. Stuffing everything in the o-ring (balls and all) can be kind of tough, or at least it was for me. I could never get the right size o-ring to fit properly. It was either too loose or it was too tight. So, I did use it and it did its purpose very well. Overall, for me the thing that bothers me is the lasso will have these loose ropes hanging, so it's not as "invisible" as an O-ring can be.
My O-rings are from automotive shop, so definitely not thought to be used in PE, but they work! I bought a box, which has lots of different sizes, quite easy to find a suitable one. Over 400 rings in the box, definitely some suitable for whole package ringing. I just favor ringing my cock only, getting it nice and plump.
Picture of the adjustable "belt type", honestly ... I've had something similar to that and overall it is not so great. Of course I haven't tried all of them, but I feel there is a big chance of pinching with that kind of mechanism.
