Filter? Don't you mean just pour into the amber bottle? I was just going to put dmso into the amber bottle and leave room to put paba in and just shake it up in that. Granted I'd have to mix new doses when I get low but I figured keeping the solutions in their original environments the less contamination I will see. Oh, and how do I sterilize the amber bottle? I was gonna put the glass in boiling water but the dropper part has rubber on the top so I don't want to melt it. Thanks

A filter would be used while in liquid form from a bigger glass jar, then through the filter into a vial.

Such as:
Point A: http://www.specialtybottle.com/amberbostonroundglassbottle16ozwstdcap.aspx (storage vial)
Filter
Point B: http://www.specialtybottle.com/amberbostonroundglassbottle4ozwdropper.aspx (usage vial)

Or adding another vial within the process. I actually never heard of anyone filtering the PABA/DMSO mixture aside from speculation on promuscle.

Unless hes referring to filtering the pill form, which some contain gelatin, flours, magnesium stearate, silica, and ETC.
Not sure if the above can even penetrate the skin with DMSO as a carrier.
Regardless, you should had got the pure powder in the first place. I wouldn't skimp on stuff like this.

Kingsnake has a overview of his process, which is just like most other process when making any skin product(without filtering though).

Red, as smerc said, add the DMSO and PABA in a glass container and mix it up, then pull it up in a syringe and then filter it as shown here http://www.whatman.com/References/gdx.mpeg if you are concerned about sterilization. Filter it into a sterile amber glass bottle. Snake doesn't use a filter, his solution ends up cloudy because the DMSO is saturated with PABA and therefore some PABA remains in the solid form. Anything in the solid form will not penetrate the stratum corneum, only what is in solultion. It's probably perfectly fine to do it that way, especially if you know the purity of the PABA. I personally filter anything that's going into my system.
