I just started using ball weights that are "homemade" but seem like they will be effective. I went and bought 1-1/2" chain rings from the hardware store and one 2" that has a little more weight to it. what I wanna know is what is the recommending length of time to where it? on all day and off at night? where it around the clock for a couple days or what?

How have your homemade weights been working out for you? Everything that I have read says to wear them as much as possible, 24/7 if you can...

Hi, To answer your questions pirate, when I bought my two shaft collars I got the black oxide ones instead of stainless steel and they did rust when I grinded the edges. I just ended up puting medical tape over the rust and I always wore them with a sock or cloth and maybe a cable clamp for a spacer.

I would not recommend skin on steel contact at all unless it's a special kind of steel like the ball weights sold on secret leather. When I was wearing the regular shaft collars from mcmaster carr they were fairly comfortable with the sock but I stopped wearing them because they weren't convenient to me always having to put on a clean sock and cloth so I didn't really like having all that stuff on my balls all day.

If your serious about ball stretching you need that extra comfort. I want to get the WMC ball weights found on secret leather. They are made of a special kind of steel and have no edges so you can wear them on your skin with some cocoa butter and have them on 24/7. I would get two 15mm weights with the spacer bar it looks really well made but it's not cheap. I really want them though maybe DLD can get a discount b/c I think they have potential.

I imagine you can wear them through out the day and while sleeping and feel pretty good like your balls are always being stretched with comfort. They can help keep the balls low while in the SG and the Bathmate so it sounds sweet I've been wanting them for a while now actually.

Thanks Pirate! I had no clue about those on that site. Those ball weights are more in my price range so I can get those soon. Those are actually way may more reasonable and I noticed they have free shipping which is a plus. I googled ball weights surgical steel in google and that was the first site that came up so it must be legit. I see only minor differences between the secret leather WMC weights and the ones on chaingang.

There is a 15mm to 20mm height difference which is nothing and doesn't matter to me at all they are both still thin which is what I want so I can stack in the future. Second is the secret leather ball weights are type 304 surgical steel and the chaingang ones are type 316 surgical steel. Found a good article comparing type 304 and 316 steel.

Thanks again pirate for giving me the link I can actually grab those ball weights maybe in June sometime.

Also I was reading and comparing type 304 to 316 on another site and it said this. "Type 316 is also used extensively for surgical implants within the hostile environment of the body." When I read the 304 it did not say that. The 316 is more expensive to so I'm surprised those ball weights are so cheap. The 316 also has a bit less Chromium then the 304 which is good. If the 316 can be used in the body than that's awesome that means you can have skin on steel contact. The ones on the chain gang is made from better steel it looks like and they are half the price!

That's great news! Thanks for posting that I never would have thought to consider the varieties of stainless steel.

I just ordered a ball weight from the chain gang. It's the donut ball weights which come in a 20mm or 30 mm height. I got the 20mm height x 36mm ID. I was going to get the 30mm height but they charge a little extra if you want those. So I just got the 20mm height, and I'm glad I did b/c I think the 20mm will be more comfortable when stacking opposed to the tall 30mm. The 36mm ID I think will be just right for me because I can use it as a bottom weight so I can stack more weights above without slippage. I've worn the 40mm ID shaft collars before. They were fine during the day but when I slept my balls slipped through and it became painful when I woke up. In the future I will be purchasing more 20mm x 40mm weights to stack on top. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm wondering what it's going to be like wearing this weight through out the day. Hopefully it would be cool if it kept my ball out of the way from the Bathmate and the SG base. I was having some issues with my balls retracting in the SG. Also with the Bathmate, not much an issue with the herc in the summer time but to keep the balls out of the way more it would feel comfortable for longer.

The size choice I think is perfect. If you have normal sized balls, a good starting weight would be the 36 x 20 donut weights. A 36mm ID is good as a bottom holder so if you add other weight it won't slip outside the house.
When you want to order more I would get the 40mm x 20 mm donuts to stack on top. Here's a good article if you want to measure for steel weights.

I know it's an old thread so sorry for that. I was looking for some info or tips for donut ball weights. I can confirm that these are good; I have one of theirs. I'd like to try different styles though.

It takes a while to get used to any donut ball weight, well, to any ball weight at all. But after a while you just get used to them, I suppose. Keep on practicing, that's all I can say. I'd like to hear more from guys using them. I have my own method but I'd like to hear other ppls experiences.
