What to look for? Cockring for Engorgement / ADC after clamping / pumping

Hey everyone,
I read time and time again that guys use a cockring after clamping / pumping to hold the engorgement but without complete constriction. The whole idea sounds cool to me, so I'd like to try that.

The thing is: What kind of cock ring should I get for that? It should still be able to somewhat hold me when I'm flaccid, right? Should I use one that is just a little tight when I'm erect or one that is way smaller than that?

How do I read cock ring sizes anyways? Is the diameter the actual diamater of the ring or the diameter of my erect penis before being constricted?

Does the material matter here?

Material does not matter. I prefer a silicone ring myself. The wide, heavy duty type. Generally, you should size your cock ring to be approximately 1/2" smaller in diameter than your erect girth is. Sizing this way should allow the ring to stay on whether erect or flaccid without it being too loose or (more importantly) too tight. If a ring is too tight, when erect you will get very dark...purple. A properly fit ring will give some temporary additional girth when erect without making you really dark.

That's the kind I like. Very comfortable, and durable. I prefer to only wear a ring around the base of my penis. Other men like to wear them around the entire package. I don't, it makes my balls ache and I feel there is something physically detrimental going on when that happens.

As I posted there, some guy on a German site said that it wouldn't close very well. It was just some random guy though, so no idea.

I'm not quite sure if I follow your math though. You say I should subtract like 1/2" inch from my erect diameter. Now my 5.3" girth puts me at a diameter of 1.6". Subtract 0.5" and we get 1.1" or about 30mm. Am I doing something wrong, is 5.3" way below average or does everyone else shove their balls in to go with this? I can't see 30mm cockrings anywhere. Actually let me think again: I actually can, but the one you posted seems to be huge

Did I understand correctly that you're using the same cockring for ADC purposes that you're using for actual action?

Cock ring, clamp, shoe lace it doesn't matter. The core principle is the same with ADC and they all work well. Its just preference regarding comfort I think.

Yes, each and every time after a session I see this. Its from the increase in size due to the expansion caused by that extra blood flow.
