I've already been accepted into one of the most difficult schools for acceptance (although Princeton rejected me, ironically). I'm a 3rd semester math student at an Ivy, I'm a top student and I'm done with my major: all I have left are credit requirements and some other majors I want to pick up. I don't know if I'm position to suBathmateit a PhD thesis: I'm gearing my education towards stock analysis rather than pure research at this point.doublelongdaddy said:Someone recently corrected my grammar and I ask that person, are you in the position for acceptance into one of the most difficult schools for acceptance? In addition, upon my acceptance I will suBathmateit my thesis for PhD with no time spent in school. Again, are you qualified for this? I(f so I dare you to join me in public debate.
Enough of this...this isn't the focus here, I'm just sick of being called out on the internet.
I was frustrated with the post because it contained a lot of negative categorizations of American culture which don't capture what's really happening. We have every damn person nowadays whining about how American culture is consumer culture and how everyone else buys into it. Of course the speaker is always exempt, but with everyone taking turns at the speaker, who the fuck are all the people who buy into it? If I feel like something is both ugly and false, I feel obliged to argue. I don't call people out over grammar for the sake of grammar: it was more the use of 'they' in this context. It's a way of separating yourself from everyone else so you feel immune to fallacy.
