Someone recently corrected my grammar and I ask that person, are you in the position for acceptance into one of the most difficult schools for acceptance? In addition, upon my acceptance I will suBathmateit my thesis for PhD with no time spent in school. Again, are you qualified for this? I(f so I dare you to join me in public debate.
I've already been accepted into one of the most difficult schools for acceptance (although Princeton rejected me, ironically). I'm a 3rd semester math student at an Ivy, I'm a top student and I'm done with my major: all I have left are credit requirements and some other majors I want to pick up. I don't know if I'm position to suBathmateit a PhD thesis: I'm gearing my education towards stock analysis rather than pure research at this point.
Enough of this...this isn't the focus here, I'm just sick of being called out on the internet.
I was frustrated with the post because it contained a lot of negative categorizations of American culture which don't capture what's really happening. We have every damn person nowadays whining about how American culture is consumer culture and how everyone else buys into it. Of course the speaker is always exempt, but with everyone taking turns at the speaker, who the fuck are all the people who buy into it? If I feel like something is both ugly and false, I feel obliged to argue. I don't call people out over grammar for the sake of grammar: it was more the use of 'they' in this context. It's a way of separating yourself from everyone else so you feel immune to fallacy.

Yes, and you are one of the chosen people to express the importance of reality and context. Keep you head strong and never doubt your importance to the value of the human understanding.

It sounds hypocritical in that context but I can't think of a way to express the concept any differently. Hopefully he can get past that and see what I'm trying to say.

Not to nit pick but which pronoun have I misused? I can't see any error, unless you are referring to you're and your, because within the context of the post these were used correctly. Did I change tense, or change into an active voice when it should have been passive? Please Mr. Ivy League teach me since I'm only able to afford going to a public school in ALABAMA. Also, if it's of any worth to you I got into Harvard. Thank you and have a nice day.

hehe. What I said actually was off-topic and has nothing to do with what was being talked about. The only reason why I said it was because on imdb.com, on the forums there, a lot of people get into useless arguments and correct each other's grammar, calling each other idiots because someone would make a typo. That's all. Just trying to be funny. Didn't mean to insult you in any way, for that wasn't my intent. My bad.

I find you condescending in a way and this irritates me. I hate to put myself at a level far beyond your intentions but somehow you seem twisted in your motives. I hope I am wrong and you are innocent in the drama you apparently wish to insinuate but never think this goes unnoticed. I am far more clever than the simplicity you so obviously try to initiate. It is very easy for me to eliminate anyone that irritates me or poses some kind of negativity to my members I care for so dearly.

Spinner, Feel free to inform me as to what is REALLY going on with our society here in America? Consumerism is a bit worn out and has been beaten sufficiently. However this does not eliminate it from conversation. Consumerism is a central part of our problem, but compounded into this central problem reside selfishness, greed, instant gratification, and an ego-centrism that is as appalling as it can be amusing. This is a core problem, and although we can agree that it has been discussed too frequently, this does not eliminate it from being a problem.
