after a session of my routine, my penis shrinks or "turtles". it gets shorter and smaller. Is this normal? Will this hinder gains? should i prevent this from happening?

It is the best way to bring your flaccid size and erect size closer together.
 
You could also wear a cock ring after your sessions. Turtling post workout is indeed from the tissues reacting to the shock of Penis Enlargement. It does not mean anything negative though.
