How do you dry jelq?

After I got some advise to try adding dry jelqs into my routine I thought I would try them out.

At the moment i'm doing my normal routine then replacing a few wet jelqs for dry until i'm more comfortable with them.

I tried looking up the right way& found lots of conflicting versions, what i've been doing is the following;

At around 60-70% erect I do the ok grip loosely around midway up my penis

Then I pull the skin towards the base and tighten the grip a little and force the blood towards the head then repeat.

The problem is my skin isnt stretchy enough to get from end to the other as I thought it was a bad idea to let the grip slide without lube.

So I have been doing the above and then move the grip further up& do the next set.

Is this right?
