Has anyone successfully gone from a manual routine, to hanging, and back to manual and see results?

I haven't been hanging long, I'm only at ten pounds right now. My main problem is that I'm not sure I am putting in enough time to successfully hang, and hanging is NOT helping me in the ED department, I'm already a diabetic.
I think I would like go back to manual, I think. I really need a good routine to go back to though. Any suggestions would be great. If I did this would I need to take a few days off completely before going to manual? I'm not really looking to spend a lot of money on devices right now, times are really tough at my house.
Btw: I currently hang 3-20minute sessions a day. Sometimes four sessions if I can find the time, but its rare.
Goals are to be 8" x 6.5"-7"
