They work better imo than flaccid stretches but harder to maintain grip and the obvious risks are higher with the large amount of blood your stretching. I've done erect stretches in my routines for several years when doing clamped works such as the CTS/TCS [search them if you want more info] and other moves. It feels more intnese and is as your pulling on the penis at its already full erection and can get it past its normal length size easier than with flaccid. Puts good stress on both tunica and ligaments depending on what stretch you do. Its not something for everyone because of the different feel and elevated risk but they do hold promise.
