An End To Razor Burn!

Well we all have had a problem with razor burn one time or another and i got really annoyed this morning so i looked up how to get rid of it. I found mine answer, alls you have to do is apply white deodorant to where the skin is irritated. I use right guard extreme sport, gives you a nice smell and gets rid of razor burn in 12 hours (for me anyway). Give it a try you wont regret it.

Interesting. I and a few other guys here have recently switched to using a "Microtouch Trimmer" and no longer need to shave. I hated the razor burn and in fact shaving too. Micro Touch Trimmer gets close enough for me w/out the irritation. Bought mine at Wal Mart for under $10

I'm assuming they meant shaving their pubic hair. With that in mind....

I read somewhere awhile back that using talcum powder could help prevent getting razor burn/bumps after shaving. I tried this out and it worked.

I use Gold Bond "Medicated Body Powder" and it works great. This stuff will cause some slight tingling and an interesting sensation (it's almost like your skin gets 'cool'); however, it has never caused my "privates" any discomfort, although I do try to keep it away from the urethra so none gets inside (this is the same powder I use whenever I need a bit of extra grip when manually stretching). I've experimented with not using it at times after shaving and there is definately a difference; almost everytime I did not use it, I got some bumps and irritations, but each time I did use it, I had no such problems whatsoever. YMMV.

Another thing to try is to always shave in the direction your pubic hairs grow, do not go "against the grain." I've been doing that of late without the powder afterwards and it works well. Granted, you may not get a completely "silky smooth" shave on the shaft, etc, this way, but then again, the closer you shave hair, the more risk you take of getting ingrown hairs and going against the grain, especially in such a sensitive area, is just asking for bumps/irritations to occur.

I wasn't thinking and shaved against the grain last Monday in the shower. I had a cheap disposable, as I had left the Sensor upstairs by mistake, and wanted to get close. I looked down a few seconds later it looked like a bloody mess, which was quite discomforting. I washed myself off and saw I had a whole series of fine shaving knicks. I lathered up and washed and everything seemed to stop bleeding by the time I finished my shower.

That is why i use tweezers and pull the hair out completely. Its smooth and no stubble.

Shit, that must take forever. And I would think the discomfort of pulling hair out would start to get to me after a little while.

Not really. It is a once in awhile thing, not everyday like shaving. It only take a long time the first time. Then its maintenance. It only stings a little.

Shaft mostly. Because I have a lot of hair up the sides and some strays all the way up. I start at the top looking for strays and go down. I pluck because I dont like shaft stubble and if I shave I have to do it everyday (which then causes bumps and ingrowns). I trim or shave other places.
