supplementing with HCG?

Hi,

Anyone supplementing here with HCG here, along with test resplacement therapy? I've been put on a routine of DHEA with 25 mg capsules x 2 per day, and a slow-release test shot every three weeks (possibly a bit too infrequent to be very beneficial but that's a separate issue). This was prescribed to me by an endo as low-T treatment.

It's easy enough to walk down to a pharmacy and get stuff where I'm at, so I'm wondering if HCG is safe enough to try supplementing with? What would be a good dosage to start with, what benefit can I expect, and what potential side effects I need to look out ofr? I'm in my early 30's btw.

Thanks in advance,
LA

It really depends what's causing your low Testosterone.

If it's primary hypogonadism, then you'll probably need a tull TRT protocol. Look into Dr. Crisler if so, he is very well versed in male specific endocrinology.

If you have secondary hypogonadism, it's possible a hCG monotherapy would be beneficial.

If you want to go with hCH monotherapy, try 250IU of hCG injected sub-q mon-wed-fri, do this for a month and re-check blood results.

This is what you'll want to test.

-Lipid Profile
-Complete Blood Count w/ Differential
-Estradiol, Sensitive
-Insulin Growth Factor (IGF -1)
-Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
-Testosterone , Free (Direct), Serum With Total Testosterone
-Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA)
-Thyroid Profile

I would add in

Luteinizing Hormone (LH)
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH
Ferretin w/ TIBC

and get a Cortisol saliva test done.

If you want a very extensive blood panel done for anti-aging. Get the following tested:

• Total Testosterone
• Free Testosterone
• SHBG
• DHT
• Estradiol, sensitive
• LH
• FSH
• Prolactin
• Progesterone
• CBC
• Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
• Lipid Profile
• PSA
• IGF -1, IGFBP-3
• Pregnenolone
• Aldosterone
• Cortisol
• DHEA
• Free T4 (Thyroxine)
• Free T3 (Tri-iodothyronine)
• Reverse T3
• TSH
• Iron, Serum w/ TIBC (% of saturation,
iron serum, total iron binding capacity,
unsaturated iron binding capacity)
• Vitamin D

I wonder if insurance would cover that. I would be really interested to get this panel done for myself.

It is possible insurance will cover a few of those. If all else fails, get Testosterone checked, and if it's low you'll get sent to an Endo and then more labs may fall under insurance, because it's a specialist and they'll check for more. If all that fails, and you want to toss out some cash you can get private labs done at privatemdlabs dot com.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

I came across Dr. Crisler during my Internet searches, but unfortunately I'm not located in America so I can't go and consult him.

And I can't afford all those tests either, unfortunately.

The endo who put me on the once every three week sustanone-25 shot and 50mg/day DHEA had my testosterone and prolactin tested. Testos was 209 ng/dl (ref range 132-813) and prolactin was 15.8 ng/mL (ref range: 3.70-17.90). After he saw the results, he agreed that my T-levels were too low for my age - which was sort of a relief, because a lot of endos don't really think there's a problem as long as your T-levels fall *somewhere* within the reference range. Anyway, he ordered a plain CT brain scan (to check for pituitary tumours, I think) but the results were normal.

I've had three shots of testosterone so far, and I'm due to see him in a week or so. I feel somewhat better than when I started out, I think, but nothing life-changing (which is what I desperately need right now - I think I've hit rock-bottom in almost every way possible).

Anyway, I'm due to see him again soon... maybe he'll prescribe a stronger treatment. I'll ask him about HCG then.

I'll update this thread after having my appointment on the coming Thursday.
