Getting professional help to quit smoking increases the chance of quitting by almost tenfold. Nicotine is a highly addictive substance. Once it is consumed, it tries to retain the balance of nicotine in the body. This leads to the want of smoking and hence it becomes difficult to quit cigarettes. Hence today there are lots of Stop smoking drugs available in the market to help people overcome the urge to smoke.

Getting professional help is much better. Professional help does not mean prolonged treatment and stay in hospital. Consulting the family doctor helps to seek professional guidance. They can suggest drugs that can be used to quit smoking. They can also suggest methods to handle withdrawal symptoms.

In the initial stages smokers face frequent mood changes. They may also face depression and that is when a doctor can help by prescribing medicines that may act as anti depressants or mood boosters.

The U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved five medications which can help to quit smoking. They are Bupropion SR (available by prescription), Nicotine gum (available over-the-counter), Nicotine inhaler (available by prescription), Nicotine nasal spray (available by prescription) and Nicotine patch (available by prescription and over-the-counter).

Bupropion SR blocks the reuptake of norepinephrine and dopamine. The unbalance of these chemicals causes many conditions like depression and seasonal affective disorder. By blocking the reuptake, bupropion gives them a better chance to maintain balance.

Nicotine gum, inhaler, nasal spray and patch are aids, which help the smoker to quit smoking by inducing small amounts of nicotine in the body and thus help them to overcome the withdrawal symptoms easily.

I will NEVER stop smoking weed. NEVER !!!

I stopped like an hour ago, I will restart in a few hours:)

Rather than smoking a cigarette, lets smoke some weed using a vaporizer which can give a good sense and effect

The solution to this is to smoke more:) This was the advice a huge pothead gave me when I was having paranoia issues, he was right.

I have paranoia too, I believe thats why my anxiety came in.

I tried awhile back and freaked the fuck out. Made it worse lol.

The one thing ive learned to stop anxiety or a panic attack is some good and to masterbate. Allways works :)

Occupying yourself with something else is always the best method with anxiety. is great, so are video games, both occupy so much of our psyche that is makes it hard for the anxiety to stick around.

This is true, i started to suffer from hard anxiety and panic attacks in my early twenty's that was also about the time when i stopped to smoke weed because i would get too much paranoid. I tried to smoke over it, but it only got me worse.

Went on a few years with anti-depressants and anxiety meds, but eventually got tired of that numb feeling and managed to get clean, took a lot self work.

What works best and its really simple, is just control your breathing and focus just on that, in a bit you will feel calmer. Masturbation also helps. Video games still are a big part of my life, and i guess its because of that, i have to keep my mind occupied at all times.

I've also smoked for about 20 years, quitted a few times, being the longest 1 year. Used mostly nicotine substitutes. Well that didn't work. What worked for me was the visualization of the nicotine (sorry about the pub) of Allen carr, and medical assistance. I know now that i would still be smoking if i didn't had medical assistance, i used both varenicline and bupropion, and also a reducing schedule. Started taking the meds and slowly reducing each day, with no pressure. Took about 2 months to fully stop.

Now i fell better than ever, still think about it sometimes, i spent more time in my life as a smoker than not one so its all normal. No cravings. I just need to think about the effort i put in on quitting.

Also, i used to believe that a lot of the addiction was physical, because i would physically fell the need for it, but it only takes 3 days for the nicotine to leave your system, so don't focus on that shit. The real challenge is just mentally. Your brain is used to receive those small yet constant jolts, and you have to tell him he will have to deal without them. You have to face social happenings without a crutch. In the end is all about freedom. The freedom to act without the "need" to puff.

I would just like to state, that all things "positive" smoke related are major BS, they are just excuses we make to justify the use.

wow, got a little carried way lol.

Smoking drugs are not good for health. it causes death so i suggest everyone to keep yourself away from this dangerous thing. Many people use drugs. They should avoid drugs and smoking. Anyway its a wonderful topic. Thanks everyone for sharing your ideas.

I tried plenty of time but failed:)I have paranoia too,
I tried awhile back and freaked the fuck out. Made it worse lol.
