So i've been trying to shift some fat off my fat ass lazy self BUT i'm just lost and going wrong with the diet part of things! I've read forums, i've read books, i've seen a nutrionist etc etc but for the love of me i just can't get a diet going that is suitable for me!

I don't need the takeaways, i don't drink alcohol, i've killed my achillies heel which was coke BUT i'm not seeing any progress. Key reasons i've been told are that i DON'T eat enough calories and i don't eat often enough! Fair enough i understand the logic of that statement that my body thinks it is in starvation mode and whatever it gets coming in it tries to hord it. My problem is i've eaten like this for years on end, just 1 meal a day or possibly 2. I just can't find the strength to keep having breakfast.

Ok so if possible can guys work with me to formulate a diet that i can sustain and one that will be beneficial to me.

Foods i eat:

Chicken - all types
Beef - all types
RICE - ESSENTIAL part of what makes me happy and feel like i've eaten
Lentils - all types
Baked beans, butter beans, white beans, black eyed beans.
Eggs
Bread
TUNA - ONLY type of fish i will eat - its a mental thing
Veg- carrots cucumber mushrooms cabbage spinach onion tomatoe potatoes
Pasta - NOT a fan but will on ocassion.

Thats about the list of what i eat, i KNOW that i am supposed to be open to other foods and my thinking should change, but you know what, i have tried and failed and rather than try and go down that path at the MOMENT, i'd prefer to work with what makes me happy and when my mental state has changed because of the change in my body, then i'm sure that new foods will be tried....

Dude, from what I've seen on MOS diet & exercise questions are as potentially dangerous as politics and religion!

You gave us a little insight on your dietary habits, not really a lot to go on but in general it doesn't sound like you're actively killing yourself via food. But you don't mention exercise. Maybe you really don't want food all that much because you just don't work up a "good, healthy appetite".

My good ol' Gramps useta say, "If what yer doin' ain't workin', then get workin' on what yer doin'!"

Just start trying some things you normally wouldn't, you gotta find what works for you sooner or later. And when you see what works; capitalize fully on that. Throw out the useless.

And get some exercise.
