Sorry for posting this here I'm sure I should've posted on the Penomet forum but there doesn't seem to be much activity on it.😨 Ghost town. Anyway does anybody know if petroleum jelly will hurt the gators if it is not completely cleaned off after use. I use it to keep from getting pinched so bad and it helps but it's a bitch to get off completely without a bunch of scrubbing with a cloth. Sometimes I'm time crunched and just wipe it off but got to thinking it might hurt it. Any ideas?

My opinion is that it should hurt too badly. Of course one way would be to use maybe some coconut oil / butter, that's more organic that petroleum jelly.
I think if you use the jelly or other means for "slickness", then a rinse and a wipe after use should be OK. Maybe after few sessions or once a week, depending on your schedule, you could scrub it a bit harder.

I don't find so much difference with the gaiters, so if you have several, you can keep switching, especially if you use the Vacu-vin mod.
I definitely vouch for the Vacu-vin modification with the Penomet.

If you received that cleaning liquid with your purchase, be sure to use it from time to time.
Excess build up of oil or petroleum jelly can also affect your skin, so surely do the wiping at least after a session.

Penomet section is truly quiet, mostly due to bad customer service and faulty products shipped, at least from what I've read.
No e-mails received, despite I bought the Premium package a long time ago. Maybe I could try contacting the support, but it seems like a big fight, at least according to several members who've done it.

I've actually used coconut oil in my bath mate it will make your skin really nice, but it does leave the pump greasy

Hi! Very glad to hear about others using coconut oil! Yes, it does leave grease behind, but in my view it's a better choice compared to petroleum jelly. Whatever you use, frequent cleaning is important anyway, to keep the valve in good working state.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'll try the coconut oil and see how that works for me.

No this will not hurt the gaiters just be sure to clean it after every use because oils left behind can trap dirt.
