Sorry guys but my ears are so stuffed up right now. I cleaned them out with peroxied and warm water. But they are still stuffed. My Q is how hard are you suppose to blow when you pinch your nose? Do you blow until your ears actually pop? Im actually scared to do it so i blow until they get stuffed then i release. They clear up then go back to stuffed again.

I lost my hearing in my right ear last week:( It will not come back either BUT my other senses seam to be getting much better:)

Have you tried chewing gum? Its most likely an ear infection..

^You serious? What happened man?

I am not sure, it was new years day, early, about 4AM est. I awoke to a painful feeling in my right ear and then there was a pop. It felt as though someone had jammed a ice pick in my ear. I rushed myself to the hospital, luckily the Mother of my Son allowed me to use her car.

When I arrived at the ER the doctor seemed perplexed. After some time and quite a bit of confusion the prognosis's was poor. After some morphine, a ear solution and a script for amoxicillian I was told that the hearing would probably not come back and if it did I was to feel very lucky.

It has been almost a week and not only is the hearing gone but the entire area of that anatomy is numb.

Keeping the hope alive is the best I can do now.

I think that you will get your hearing back though. That kind of shit's fucked up though,to wake up like that man.

Stay strong.

I wouldn't rely solely on the diagnosis of an ER doc who's probably some wet-behind-the-ears first year resident. Get yourself to a respected audiologist as soon as you can.

DLD, I'm sorry to hear about your ear trouble. That has to be awful and I sure hope you'll be able to recover in the coming days. As the last post said, I would follow up and get a second opinion from a specialist.

shit man, i hope this is temporary! really feel for you! keep us informed on the situation!!

It's funny you should mention this. I just had a similar problem and it ended up being a blocked ear canal. A near tootsie-roll sized piece of earwax was blocking it up.

You might want to try some debro(angry)carbamide peroxide) or something similar. Lay down, put about 10 drops in your ear, and lie there for about 20 minutes.

And stop using q-tips in your ear!!! q-tips usually just push your wax further into the ear canal. You can also perforate the eardrum, which will make things much worse.

My recommendation is go see a doctor. I went in and got my ear irrigated, took only a couple of minutes and now I can hear perfectly again after over 2 weeks of not being able to hear out of my left ear.
