most 80s hair bands...those guys were really good...dont listen to the people who bash them....LOTS of talent was in those bands!

Van Halen
Mercyful Fate
King Diamond

Jimi Hendrix - changed rock-n-roll forever
Led Zeppelin - probably the greatest -band- ever
Cream/Eric Clapton - great stuff very trippy and amazing to listen to
2pac - the single greatest rap artist of our era (maybe ever)
Janis Joplin - to think if she had a dick she'd been considered a god :p
Jeff Buckley - you'll never hear a more tormented voice sound so soothing
David Gray - british pop at it's finest
Alanis Morissette - Head and shoulders one of the best female artist of the 90s
Rage Against the Machine - the only band of its kind
Wolfmother - DAAAAAAAMN cannot wait for the next album, throw back to the 60s

I like a lot of different stuff, but for the most part I'm into rock alternative/grunge/psychodelic/classic/pop majority of bands I like have one of two things going for them. Amazing vocalist or guitarist -OR- something that grabs you. I would say the best decade of Rock was from 1965 to 1975 with bands like Cream, Led Zeppelin, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Sly and the Family Stone, Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Rush and so many more out there it was truly a most creative time. And I'd absolutely love to have been at Woodstock OR the Monterey Pop Festival.
